I went to the Comedy store in the West end with a bunch of mates as a Christmas do a few years ago .
About 20 of us steamboat watching stand up, one of our group got up to go for a piss and the comedian tore him a new one .

The poor **** nearly left he was embarrassed.
This would probably be classed as dehumanising and there is no way a marginalised person would get mocked for fear of being branded some sort of ist.

He obviously knew he was with a rowdy group and he was heckling so the comedian got full value out of it.
.Barrymore is good at this sort of stuff .

Comedian (on the right) made a joke about the spaz (sorry, alternatively abled person) on the left but the case is at the highest court in Canada as the "victim" says making jokes about him and his appearance dehumanised him. The comedian said that his defence was based on how much the audience laughed. If you see a comic who is on his game and knows how to work the room it is a very powerful thing indeed, it adds fuel to the routine even if it's been done a hundred times before. I've seen comics destroy audience members for laughs, if you don't like it you can leave (which I have also seen happen) but fact is we love taking the piss and there isn't anyone or anything that is sacred.

FFS within a couple of hours of Captain Tom shuffling off this mortal coil I got sent a photo of a Zimmer frame with "for sale, only done 100 laps".

 

In the UK we had that totally unfunny cripple comedian that was on Britain's got talent that it was differently able ist not to laugh at him .
