I wasn’t blaming Shelvey I’m just saying the season he joined we got relegated. But we consistently lose more than we win and we have declined since that season when Pardew finished 5th.
We were 10th when Pardew resigned and were managerless the remainder of the season, that's when we finished 15th We also got to the Europa League quarter final when we finished 16th, pretty normal. McClaren signed utter ****, across the board, unrelenting ****. Off the top of my head our first season with Pardew we finished 13th? So 13th 5th 10th 16th 10th I would say McClaren set us back years, the signings, bar Wijnaldum were utter ****.
how? We gave McClaren proper cash, we signed a load of players. Even if you think we gradually declined under Pardew, which the stats simply do not support at all considering he managed us from a promotion season and kept us up, McClaren got a completely clean slate. The club, refused to replace Colo and Williamson with capable replacements and then refused to sign players of any real quality. Thats not pardew just cos he called some old fella a ****.
@captain wrong mate, thought id post my controversial opinion and fight all the people off with a spear. Give you a day off
Look at Fulham 2 seasons ago. Look at Everton. Proper money doesn't mean quality. The decline started with Pardew. In the same way the decline of NUFC in the 90s was due to Dogleash.
Proper money was spent and was misspent, that was my point... McClaren misspent millions and we went down. But its Pardews fault. We were in the championship the season prior, where are you saying we declined from? Pardew set our premier league standard, Hughton never finished a season but ended with us 13th. In Pardews seasons, we met or surpassed that except when in Europe. That was our standard, the decline began upon hiring McClaren. We instantly went down. Again, people are in my opinion completely changing the situation because fan expectations exploded and no one liked him in the first place.
You're right, he was a **** of a human being. The season we finished 5th was amazing but still was a fluke. After that we were in decline. The league table shows that. Just because he left before it was noticeable to you doesn't mean it wasn't in decline. Yes he wasn't helped in the transfer market but then he was a nodding dog.
A fluke? We played fantastic football and he used our players to the best of their abilities. To suggest it was a fluke is pure ****ing nonsense to be quite honest. Noticable to me? We were still maintaining a solid position in the league, not a single soul on this website, the media, YouTube or anything even suggested we were guaranteed to go down under McClaren because we has "declined" You haven't even disputed a single one of my points to be honest, just sorta said "nah, youre wrong." We were safe as **** under Pardew, hounded him out and we've been utter **** ever since. Even with a completely new squad, we still arent as good as the team he resigned with.
Contrary to what people are saying on here I'd take pardew right now. He always does well at first, so thst tells me he gives the dressing room a lift. He's a passionate guy and that's what we need. The fans saying no still think we can do better, but we're not an attractive proposition at the best of times, but this late in the season and in a relegation battle that makes it even less appealing. Nufc fans in the main still think they're bigger than Steve bruce and Pardew, but we're not.. Everyone else with half a brain knows newcastle is now a tin pot club... You can't just keep hiding delusion behind the word potential and although I agree the club does have potential, right now it does not.
TBF you didn't address my points either but hey ho. I think you're wrong and you think I'm wrong. End of. However, if you want a manager I hate more than Bruce and more than Pardew it's Jack Charlton (in terms of managing NUFC and not as a human)
We are tin pot, relegation fodder. Thats why im ****ing bemused when you look at us now, and think badly of a manager who had us more than often not 10th. Sure he was prone to ****ing **** decisions. Sammy ameobi, playing players who werent good enough, Obertan stands out. But people say midtable was a decline, we were poor, we were this. We were safe as houses under him, not for one minute did people think we'd be in a relegation scrap before he resigned. What the **** do people expect when we are where we are.
Most people hate Dalglish the most, but I werent around much due to being a baby. I hate Bruce and Kinnear more than anyone. Im not allowed to hate him as hes a legend, but Shearer was also pathetic
Newcastle fans got a taste of the nectar under keegan and Bobby and they can't seem to accept were a small club. They think its all about Ashley, but it's actually not just that.. The landscape of the game has changed dramatically... There's been numerous big takeovers taking place and it's been pushing us into the sea further with each one. The premier league has shafted us this time not Ashley. Pardew would be a reasonable appointment imo.
