I was just saying this to the missus. That was a pen. He wasn’t looking at the ball and his only objective there was backing into carrol.. And they got the freekick. It’s disgusting. I can guarantee you if that was the other way around it would be a penalty.
BBC 88 mins PENALTY APPEAL Chelsea 2-0 Newcastle Olivier Giroud sees Andy Carroll behind him and sticks his backside into the Newcastle striker as a corner comes in. Carroll wants a penalty and referee Peter Bankes does blow his whistle... ...to award Chelsea a free-kick for a push by Carroll. That could easily have gone the other way.
Can I put in a late bid please lads. I’m going for 3 unfortunately’s, 2 WOR’s and a can’t ask for anymore.
Tbh 2-0 isn't a bad result given the players we were missing. Fingers crossed Burnley don'tose on Wednesday and on to the next one and that's not our game vs man u it's Burnley vs Sheff United. I'm banking all my hopes on Fulham losing those two games
I can see that on Bruce's headstone. I'd not long to go between me and you. I dusted meself down and at least it was only two.
What did we learn tonight? Nothing. What did tonight show that we all - except Bruce/Jones - have known forever? That Gayle isn't a footballer, Shelvey is lazy and useless, Krafth is a very poor full back and we cannot play the same tactics and expect the same results with such a poor team. I'm not sure about this 4-3-1-2. The two strikers are "split", as in neither are in the box, with the view that Almiron or Willock will get more goals? Dunno. Maybe it needs time, but not sure we have it - I'd rather just see it go to 4-2-3-1, to be honest.
Agreed. In all seriousness the result on any other day wouldn’t be that bad. But when you compare our efforts to Fulham’s there’s a gulf in application. CW said that we need Fulham to lose their next two games. He’s right. We play manu next away. We have a free hit (will probably lose as expected) but then wolves is a winnable game.
We need to get Lejeune back from France he's the only ball playing cb we have and he could solve the schar problem We need to find a right back in the u21s that's fast and strong defensively that will be best fit for replacing Manq We can't replace Wilson we won't have anything like him, but Joelinton is probably sadly the best we have.
