Maybe its a little too early because of his injury, but as a Mark Cullen fan, I feel before we jump in with a Freddie Eastwood type replacement, we should look no further for time being. i saw him in a couple of pre-season matches and he looked sharp. Not sure about the severity of his injury however?

Personally I think once hes back fit( I believe he pulled a hamstring like Waggy) he would get more benefit and games from continiuing his loan at Bury. Waghorn could be back in 3-4 weeks. Cullen probably wouldn't make the bench when Waggy's back and would be back in reserve games (unless we get him another loan sorted), which isn't going to help his development.

    Oh My God, Cullen !!!

    He's a league 2 player at best !!!

We dont need to look for a replacement for 'MARTYN' Waghorn because....

    1) His injury is not as bad as first thought and we are treating him for his injury and its likely Waghorn may only miss 2-3 weeks

    2) We already have Fryatt, McLean, Adebola and Nick Barmby to mention a few who are all chomping at the bit to be selected for a start.

Cullen is not good enough and needs to be playing regular first team football lower down the leagues before NP decides to get rid of him in his own good time. The only thing Cullen has is a bit of pace, he ball chases very well though.

Tend to agree . Cullen is not good enough at Championship level and I doubt he ever will be .

Not so sure about the 'Oh my God 'bit though .

    A bit camp don't you think ?

I'm with Mussie on this one, he is still very young and has shown he can score. When in the side not scoring he was not missing chances as in common with the other strikers being used he was not been given them. He has pace and and edge to him that may keep defenders honest, only McClean currently shows this.

I think NP AP will think it through and not bring anyone else in as a direct replacement.

They may be thinking unless it's a big name (in championship terms) (very unlikely), how do we Know they would prove to be better than a combination of Fryatt...Mclean....Adi and Nick. We would likely spend two games finding they are no better.

I'd love to see Cullen come good, but I really don't think he's going to cut it at this level, if anything, he seems to be going backwards.

It's an odd one with Cullen. Plenty on the coaching staff have said he shows great promise. Perhaps, like so many, his problems are of character rather than talent.

i have to that disagree slightly No 1. Given the chance I think he will come good. The key is: 'given the chance'!

He's had the chance in the Prem, He's had the Chance in The Championship and He's more than a chance in the reserves which you seem to spend most of your time watching so yes he will catch your eye in the reserves but reserve team football is not the same as first team football in the Championship.

The kid is not good enough for us whilst we remain a Championship or hopefully Premiership club, get rid.

Mussie you seem to have hit a nerve with old tigershull. I agree given the number of games some players have been given and misfired in Cullen has not had much of an opportunity.

All I remain to say is the lad simply is not good enough. He's played plenty of footy with us.

Also remind me what age has to do with ability? Are you saying Frazer Campbell, Robbie Brady and Cameron Stewart were all thrown in at a young age?

Hit a nerve with me? Must have also hit a nerve with OLM too then but let me think a minute... Oh Yeah, you wont see it like that though will you because OLM is a Moderator !!!

And less of the old, I'm only 34... Lol

Cullen is simply not good enough and should not be considered as a replacement for Waghorn. The two are worlds apart. Anybody who thinks Cullen is capable of playing in the Championship or higher, now or anytime soon either spend most of their time thinking Hull City play their first team football in North Ferriby and clearly know bog all about who is and who is'nt a decent larker.
