RIP Chick Corea. Might not be many on here who know him other than @The Ginger Marks but this guy had a massive influence on Jazz / Latin / Fusion and paved the way for huge innovations in music going forward
Giles Peterson has done a tribute show. I’m gonna stick that on later and roll up a fat one. will post up the link when I’m home later
Here's the link to that Chick Corea show mate. and for any other Jazz ****ers like us https://worldwidefm.net/show/gilles...PuATM5VEqqCilaCjNz9g2-mib-Lucc5yNKo1AG-gTVu8U
Plant and Page probably two of the most revered song writers ever, up there with Lennon/McCartney, Jagger/Richards, Simon/Garfunkel. A band that defined a genre and inspired a whole generation of bands who followed. But they're ****
Don't know what you mean by "the likes" but I get where you're coming from, I like some of their songs love 1 or 2 but generally think they are overhyped. Bit controversial but I would never put a whole album on my them.
Music of course is down to the individual but here's a short list of so called big bands that I think are overhyped, Join in if you like. Pink Floyd Oasis The Beatles Red Hot Chilli Peppers
I think there's a difference between not liking a band and thinking they are **** or overhyped. Out of that list above I only really like the Chili Peppers, but I recognise the contribution the others have made to music. Putting it into perspective from Comm's point of view. A band like AC/DC are huge and made a massive impact on the rock/metal scene. But I cannot stand listening to them or the likes of Status Quo or any of that 3 chord rock stuff.
Not sure about that, I personally don't think Led Zep made a bad album. By no means faultless in that there are some duff tracks but I'd be amazed anyone could say any album was ****. All superb musicians as well. Get what you're saying re Floyd, it stopped at The Wall for me. I think Division Bell was next, which I couldn't listen to, so I never bought or listened to anything by them after that. There's a period of there's which is essentially Dark Side, Animals, Wish you Were Here and The Wall which I really like, the rest is meh as ****. Kudos to their musicianship though, can't be questioned.
