As supporters(avid fans) of F1 I do think we are critical of certain aspects, and no doubt a little bored with the Merc dominance, even if we admire their brilliance. You raise a good point though about 2022 and the regs changing, it could be an interesting year. This year I am keen to see if Ferrari can change their fortunes, I hope so, how Alonso and Perez perform and if Stroll and Vettel have on track battles. I want to see Daniel surprise the field too.
So the Rich energy update you wanted... They have apparently bought a majority stake in an existing F1 team for 2022 to run their own Rich Energy team. Pffffftttt I know
More Bull I think? Surely that can only be Haas or Alfa - I can't imagine either touching Poor Energy with a barge pole.
“A strategic ally of Rich Energy has agreed to purchase a majority stake in an existing team. We did explore with the new regulations actually entering our own team for 2022, which would be Rich Energy Formula 1 team. “But a friend of ours has agreed a deal for a majority stake in a Formula 1 team, and we will become a partner of that team for 2021. Once that acquisition is announced we will become the title sponsor for 2022. “I’m really looking forward to competing with our competitors on-track, I’ll be at the first race, March 28 in Bahrain.” Seems a bit suspicious. I hope no F1 team would seriously go near them.
A part of me would love for this to be true. Sadly the logical part is telling me this is all just more boll....
Just to say Billy Monger has completed his Comic relief challenge to walk, cycle and kayak 140 miles. Details here https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-56213071
Amazing guy! The example he sets to others, just as all those Paralympic athletes and others often do who have suffered such setbacks. Also those who haven't, for whom they all are inspiring. Positivity attracts positivity.
This is off topic for this site. I am thinking of buying an electric car. The only one I truely like the styling of is the Jaguar i PACE, Anyone got opinions/experience of the current crop out there?
Just spotted Billy Monge's Red Nose day challenge program is on BBC1 18th March 9pm - Should be a good watch. Ready for the Drive To Survive on 19th. Then first practice on 24th March. Getting a bit excited to see if anyone can challenge Merc.
If anyone is interested the BBC have the documentary on Billy Mongers Red Nose Day Challenge, it's on 9pm on BBC1 tonight. I continue to be inspired by his determination and his ability to challenge people when they say no you can't do xyz etc. He has great spirit and always seems cheerful no matter what has happened. Plus Drive To Survive 2020 is out in about 10 hrs on Netflix.
Billy is amazing, nothing stops him and he never seems to feel sorry for himself despite the terrible thing that happened to him. I took this picture of him chatting to Carlos Sainz a few years ago.
