Exactly mate ha! We are at a low eb but having him coming in lifts us! Some people just like to twist
don't think it was anything that needed resolving, just additional paperwork / evidence they needed to document but didn't expect to.
I think we will be better with KLD than FFP, down to nothing more than he has a passion for football to go along with his money and business sense. I know some posters heard a lot about the American plans and said they were huge opportunity. I can't help thinking they were in it for financial reasons, I have a feeling KLD wants to own a succesful football club as much if not more than financial reasons.
The FPP plans were projects using other people's money to improve the Metro station, Sheepfolds, pedestrian access, land around the ground and the riverside ... all of which they'd take credit for and benefit from when they sold. We'd have benifitted indirectly but they wanted to spend as little as possible for the biggest profit.
Thanks for that reply mate, I knew you had heard a few things about FPP plans and were excited about them. Obviously in comparison to what has gone before especially most recently they would have been great, did you ever hear what their plans were for the team would they have been happy getting back to the Premiership or were they wanting top 6 etc... sound like the team would have been secondary and almost a can't have one without the other as they built the club to be worth as much as possible business wise. Who would you prefer given the choice, KLD or FPP?
I'm in the realms of guesswork now mate, but I think it was PL and sell tbh. On balance, although I have scant info about KLD's intentions, I'd have to go for him. He doesn't need the money and, at 23 could flit around the world, but he has a genuine interest in football. He could be exactly what we've needed all this time.
Look at the way FPP are treating the leagues and clubs, they are clearly in it for a quick few quid, i really don't get the sense that they are passionate about football in the slightest. KLD I have no doubt wants to make money, as he should but there is also a clear passion for football. Now as fans we need to make sure he has a strong passion for Sunderland
His interest in football is what makes me think he is going to be better for us. I think he will enjoy success on the pitch and that will be his goal more than a nice profit. Obviously I know nothing about them other than what I read online etc... but what I read about him and football is very interesting.
If he gets us winning games and a team to enjoy watching he will be blown away I think. Look at ex-players from the Reid era (our best time in modern era) and how some of them talk about the club.
