We definitely need a new number one. We'd still be in the FA Cup and may have 1 or 2 more wins this this season with a more consistent keeper. Lloris has been flakey for a few years now so it's not a temporary thing.
The sooner you all admit we need a squad re build and have done for a few years and this year at best has been an attempt considering all of our managers operate with one hand tied behind their backs, the better. Im not spending Sunday discussing ****in Gazza and Hart. When in reality it’s time for Hugo to **** off because once again another Poch baby in a massive comfort zone cruising through because we lack real squad quality.
They tend to have regional derbies rather than local ones, for example Cote d'Azure: Monaco vs Nice Garonne: Bordeaux vs Toulouse Normandy: Caen vs Le Havre The only local derby that is guaranteed this season is Paris FC vs Red Star, as both play in Ligue 2 It's similar to a lot of derbies in Italy, because while they do have city derbies for Rome, Milan and Turin after that it soon gets into regional derbies, i.e. Fiorentina/Bologna, Parma/Reggiana (aka the Cheese Derby...yes, really) or Palermo/Cagliari
Who on here has said Hart was signed to be number one? You’re debating against something no one has said. Gazzaniga is definitely a better keeper than Hart nowadays. Everyone on here said that signing Hart was fine for HG purposes and for a third choice keeper as his experience would be good to have around the place. Jose then decided to install him as 2nd choice to everyone’s surprise. The idea Hart was signed without Jose’s approval is what I’m laughing at.
The homegrown situation probably didn't help with that choice, due to the Europa League, but Lloris should've been left out of the group.
So if we both see it you can’t expect the manager to trust him for what are actually massive games for us. No one said he was signed without approval but I for one know we didn’t sign him to oust Hugo. so what if he replaced Gazza as number 2...nothing between them apart from fans fancy a bit of Gazza because he’s been around a while.
Again I don’t get what you’re debating against here. I said that if anyone thinks Hart was signed without Jose’s approval then it’s laughable. You’ve then started talking about ousting Hugo and Hart not being first choice... I don’t get it. I know Hart won’t oust Hugo, I know he wasn’t signed to be first choice, I’ve never said differently. Gazzaniga right now is a better keeper than Hart though. Hart’s been dreadful for about three years and being third choice at Burnley says that. That’s why when he signed everyone expected him to be third choice here.
ok mate...maybe we have wires crossed. I’ll keep it simple from where I stand. It’s like we are trying to debate which piece of turd do we replace the turd in goal with. take your pick.
Yesterday was a disaster on many levels. Yes, we were playing a really confident top team. But Citehs quality only just emphasised the paucity of our performance. Dreadful keeping, calamity, weak defending (eg how does a pro CB get so meekly disabled by a half pint midfielder?) and a general lack of fight. You wouldn't blame either Kane or Son if they started making COVID-permitted travel plans - in fact Sonny looks like his mind is elsewhere already. As you and others have said, we need at least 6 big replacements this summer. And we won't get them. We won't win anything this year. We will probably now not make a Euro position. We have some decent youngsters coming through, but that won't be enough and it could take 3-4 years before we see ourselves back to where we were in 2017/18. Prepare for some frustrating times..
There is a part of me that would love to see you deal with modern footballers Generally I agree tbh...the major difference between is re JM
To be fair Son has always been a player who goes through unbelievable patches but then completely anonymous patches, so I don't think (nor hope!) that he's necessary got his mind focused elsewhere. I think that's what holds him back from being truly world class like Kane is. Kane rarely has dips, one or two bad games here and there but his form over a season (when fit) is often good and he'll leave the field having been one of our best players roughly 80-90% of the time. Son can at times go 5-10 games of doing absolutely nothing, but then 10/15/20 games of being phenomenal. Agree though, gonna be a frustrating period for the club. Hard to be positive at the moment. Lot of work needs doing for us to get back on track.
I always find booing quite funny. Seeing primarily grown men going "boooo" makes me laugh. I tend to just say something like "****ing useless" as I'm walking out at the final whistle, getting ready to drown my sorrows.
Exactly that. It's like the guys that think a player can hear them from the stands, I genuinely start laughing. "Aurier mark him!", "Dier don't rush the challenge!", "Winks pass the ball forward"... Yeah mate, I'm sure they're gonna heed your advice and turn around with a thumbs up
It's like how Man Utd fans think that racially abusing Rashford, Martial or Tuanzbee is some form of motivator Yeah, that's going to encourage somebody to bury a chance when the score's 0-0, somebody using racial slurs about you on Twitter a few hours after the fact...
Makes a lot of sense......but the thought of red shirts at WHITE Hart Lane!!!! I'm gonna throw up!!!!!!!!!
Accept what you mean about Sonny and you're right. Guess the difference for me is that he is now a very experienced player, one who needs to develop as a more consistent player. He's had his recent run of 'misses' - almost all players get those. What worried me was his poor passing, real half-assed efforts to close down or support. I just read into that. Hopefully I'm wrong.
Their kit changed again to red shirt and blue shorts in 1890, and for a time the team were known as 'the Tottenham Reds'. Five years later in 1895, the year they became a professional club, they switched to a chocolate and gold striped kit.
