think you need to read my previous posts on this for some context...same as wyke scoring a few of those earlier goals...i refuse to jump in and lump praise on players after one decent performance, as i would not jump on their backs for one lousy performance, now if he continues in such form he will get all the praise he deserves but let's be honest here most of us would have saved those penalties and those apart he was not overly tested bar some 'routine' type saves.
No doubt about that mate. Eleven points from those five would be enough to catapult us up the league. Of course fifteen would be better!
Another class act yesterday Darren Moore. I remember some programme about Beckham playing in the US, his team lost the final to win the league. All his team mates moped off to their dressing room pizzed off. He stayed on the pitch congratulating all the opposition players.
Just watching the highlights and the commentator said that McGeady could see Gooch in space. Now I know that the bloke had an outstanding game, but there's no way that his eyesight is that good!
Watching that video, I'm super impressed with Wykes second goal in particular, apart from the excellent delivery from McGeady, Wyke really made the effort and soared high to head that ball perfectly!
Theres no team imo, good enough to walk away with it. The business end is about to begin with twists and turns. Some will fade away, others will go on runs. I hope we are the latter as we've not had ours yet, surely we are due a run of wins.
I get what you’re saying, balanced view and all that but saving two pens in one game has to equate to a better than average, decent performance. If we’d drawn or only won 1-0 and he’d saved those 2 pens he’d have got MOM.
Penalties are the most psychological aspect of any match. The keeper's first job is to appear confident and unnerve the taker ... ... I don't know if that happened yesterday, but I'll give Burge the botd.
Geads interview is superb. Especially when he talks about Wyke. Says a year ago he’d put a ball in and not expect him to get in the end. Now he just assumes he’ll be there as he almost always is. difference between then and now!
