I'm guessing it's - we've had the most crap first halves of any team in Europe <laugh>

Trouble is he's probably not wrong <wah>

We must be at least mid-table for crap second halves too...<doh>

Actually, perhaps that stat means we have a manager who takes the old saying "It's a game of two halves" a bit too literally.

I wonder if this has a psychological effect on some of the players.
Why should a player give maximum commitment (put in every ounce of effort he can) particularly towards the end of the first half, if he has the very real possibility in the back of his mind that he won't be coming back on for the second half?
    It's a demotivator.

I don't want Lee Bowyer to lose his job. But things like this can't just be ignored. They should be considered.

The one thing that's bothered me most about Bow has been his public naming and shaming of players, and what effect that has on squad morale. We've got a run of games coming up that we should get better results in, provided the players give 100%. I'll be watching for them to make themselves available, and provide options for the man in possession. Not just doing enough to get by. Maybe you could call it hunger.

Take a look at the Hull board, they aren’t happy with McCann!

There was a certain amount of trepidation (shall we say) when the team selection was revealed yesterday.

Fair play to some members on the forum concerned, who held their hands up and admitted they were a tad premature :emoticon-0111-blush
A gesture made easier by the general happiness at a solid win <applause>

The first time Lee Bowyer has admitted he may be going at the end of the season, should Charlton fail to make the play-offs.

Good news for all those who want him gone.
Those who'd rather kick him while he's down than give him another chance.
Something for them to look forward to.

Have we ever had so many red cards? Purrington, Pratley, Morgan, Pearce, WAtson and Aneke, any more? This has to reflect badly on the manager.

Still over a third of the season to go (even though it's over for us apparently).

So plenty of time to make this a record red card season.
Bowyer's fault of course. And probably Sandgaard's fault for not sacking him, according to some of our fans.

i pointed out on twitter yesterday that it'd have been better to have had the game called off. mostly because the teams around us had their games called off and because of our central defenders. they stood no chance against their two forwards. anyway.. i got responses like "dont be silly" "we'll win and others will have a congested run in".

same people immediately after the game wanted LB gone and they couldnt believe what happened.... like our central defenders being sh1t was a complete surprise.

i dont want LB gone, i want pearce gone. he's useless. he got outpaced loads of times yesterday even with a 10m headstart. cannot communicate either. then comes out with another "we go again" tweet straight after the match.

and i'm still of the opinion that it'd have been better to have a congested run in but with proper defenders in our team. this isnt LB's fault; although at some point we should have bought in decent cover. it's recruitment that's the issue this season. why do we need to go through 10 - 12 midfielders when we're leaking so many goals.

Sadly I think it's over for LB now.

His comment about having a conversation with TS if we fail to make the top 6 is a pretty clear signal to my mind.
We aren't finishing in the top 6 this season.

I'd like to think a combination of the 'summer 2020' transfer window being ruined by the ESI court case, plus the salary cap, put paid to our chances of promotion this season. I don't really want to blame Lee Bowyer. I was only being sarcastic on ITTV regarding him earlier today.

Until Wembley in May 2019 I didn't really believe in him.
Since then, I have so badly wanted him to succeed. But it hasn't happened.

    Bugger it.
Feeling really down about football right now, as well as everything else.
