3pm Saturday. Crucial game for us we need to win. A scrappy one nil will do. Ingram Emmanuel Burke greaves elder The Doc honeyman Wilks. Crowley. Klp Magennis if I could think of anyone available who would help I’d pick them!! It would be worth dropping any of the front three tbh but Scott is shorn of confidence. Whyte is injured. could always play Coyle and Clark at full back and push Emmanuel and elder to rm and lm And go 4-4-1-1 which I would favour tbh Anyway city 1-0
Popping these things up has made me think we just seem to be playing the same few teams all the time. Milton Keynes has more bridges than Venice and a longer shoreline than Jersey. No-one in Milton Keynes is ever more than half a mile from a park. The Church of Christ the Cornerstone was the first purpose-built ecumenical church in the UK. In the 1860s, Billy Smith of Woolstone was the first man to cultivate a farm entirely by steam. The Cock Horse nursery rhyme refers to a horse rented from The Cock Hotel in Stony Stratford. The phrase “Cock & Bull Story” derived from the two inns in Stony Stratford High Street. Newport Pagnell is home to the only vellum and parchment factory in Britain. WD40, is produced in Milton Keynes. Only six people know the recipe. Aston Martin cars were built in Newport Pagnell. Milton Keynes formed its eventual name from one of the old villages, known as ‘Middleton Kayne’ in the 13th century. Cliff Richard whizzed through the town's shopping centre on roller skates for a music video for his hit single Wired for Sound. The UK's first multiplex cinema opened in Milton Keynes in 1985. The railway station was used as the UN HQ in Superman IV movie. Midsummer Boulevard, MK's central street, is aligned so on Midsummer's Day, sun rises & shines along it.
Magennis is absolutely useless playing with his back to goal he couldn't trap a bag of cement on Tuesday night. Every ball played into him ended up 6 feet away with a Lincoln player ! We need a striker even Scott would be a better option at No 9
I'd call this a must win. It's not going to be easy but we need this one..UTT! If we do happen to lose and MK Dons have a good February then we can always celebrate Russell Martin's Manager of the Month Award??
The Golden Shot. Name the time of the first shot HCAFC have on target. Seeing they are trained to shoot over the top and not wide this is another great opportunity to draw a blank. Ok, think positive, I'll go for 28 minutes. Penalties don't count.
Magennis scored two excellent goals at their place (ok Scott scored one too, but Magennis's were both quite difficult chances he buried with aplomb). He's had Covid and maybe will take a while to get back to sharpness, but he's done ok this season, whereas for the most part Scott has looked ineffective.
I'd like to see the Enigma machine try to guess what Wilks is going to do with the ball at any given time. No other bugger, including him, does.
Buoyed by his recent success in the EFL c*** of the month award, I believe McCann will keep the same formation of stick keeper , a safer option than the more attacking goalie fly, which he could revert to later in the game if we find ourselves chasing the game. My thoughts are we should take this one about 28.17 but if it’s a close game with only one or two goals in it ( and no one else is waiting to get on) it could well be next goal’s the winner. Sounds like an opportunity for KLP if his mam hasn’t shouted him in, as it’s still relatively dark nights. Further team news, Smallwood and Eaves will be missing as they are trying to fix Alfie jones cortina. Callum and Alfie Jones are giving it a miss this week, but are definite maybes for Wednesday.
