A really cracking pair of drivers... McLaren should be proud to have them both.

McLaren may shoot themselves in the foot by not having a No 1 driver setup sometimes, but I'm glad that they don't.

Great drive from Jenson today.. I wish it would have been Hamilton on the top spot, but if it couldn't be him then I'm happy for it to be Jenson.

As a Hamilon fan.. I'm just hanging tight. It can't rain all the time. :)

Every driver has an off season, some a lot more than others. I just think this is Lewis' 'off' season

Hamilton is arguably the most naturally talented driver on the grid, but those with axes to grind against him are right about one thing: he doesn't know how lucky he is. Part of that can be put down to relative immaturity, but a lot of it is down to how he was fast tracked into the sport.

He breezed through the junior formulae, showed up an unsettled double world champion up in his debut F1 season, pretty much ended Kovalainen's career, and ended last year more than a race win ahead of Button, despite having one more retirement. Up until 2009, he had absolutely no experience of racing in an inferior car, and even now he has no experience of being at a team that can only dream of points.

Contrast that to Alonso, Button and to a lesser extent Vettel, who all have experience of battling in terrible cars, making what they could of it and going on to bigger and better things.

Don't see how that makes him lucky. He worked hard in the lower formulas just like all the other drivers on the grid, he just cleared then extremely quickly, and for that Mclaren gave him a contract. Luck doenst come into it. Theres no luck in the lower formulas just talent. Look at Felipe Nasr, who dominated the British F3 this year, won it with a few races to go. Showed the experience of some one 5 or so years older than him. He drove with such maturity over the seasom, his natural talent lead him to the championship win.

Saying Hamilton is lucky is ridiculous, Had Vettel joined for the '09 seaon, and took DC's spot when he retired, the same probably would have happened to Vhim, although Red Bull didnt know they were going to have a quick car for 2009

The first part of '09, I think he'd have probably finished in higher positions if he'd have gone out in an Austin Princess. :p

As they say in the NFL, Bust!

Though it's a long road for Lewis until we can make that call.

I wouldn't write him off just yet... Though people seem quite eager to do so, we have no clue what the future holds. He's an obvious talent that just needs refocusing.

But if that's his "maximum" as he was saying before the start of the season that he is in the best mindset he has ever been, yack yack... and 2010 he was getting over his father problems.

So what the hell is he going to be like next year?

Surely it will take a season to get back to grips with himself...

Like I say... some people want him to fail, take pleasure in his failure and hope for it to continue. Write him off at your own peril.

So you get your rocks off by slagging off drivers you've chosen not to like,, how very sad and very childish

I think he will. You don't just become a bad driver.

Personally.. I think he just needs to do a few things to get back on his game.

    1. Get pops back ASAP. (as suggested by many)
    2. Negotiate less corporate crap in to the next contract.. Make time for life.
    3. Don't train in Colorado this winter. It's cold and miserable. Go somewhere warm and enjoyable and combine it with fun.
    4. Ignore press, ignore those that try turn you in to their cash cow. They're going to write crap, they're going to stir the pot... Leave them to it. You can't change it.
    5. Watch the Senna movie about a dozen times.
    6. Relax and find the fun in racing again... the wins will come.

To me.. He just needs that flame lighting again.

As a Hamilton fan... It's really has been a hellish year. Being a Hammy fan is quite hard as it is, since he's usually the topic of discussion and his every race dissected. But thinking about it. Maybe people are right in what they have said about him never being in a true, poor back of the grid team.

Hamilton walking in to F1 as a hungry newcomer. He walked in with balls of brass and showed no signs of intimidation from the established drivers. He almost took the title in his first season in a quite staggering display. In his second season, though by the skin of his teeth, he took it.

Now here's the thing... Did Hamilton then underestimate what it takes to be World Champion? Has he gotten complacent (and yes, gotten is a word), lost track of what it takes to win? Has he expected to just turn up and take it?

If that's the case.. this year 'could' be his equivalent of being in a lesser team. Maybe this is the reality of F1 hitting him, maybe this is telling him that to be Champion again you have to sacrifice, you have to be on top of your game, you can't take anything for granted and you can't just show up and win, you need to want it and be willing to put everything in to it. This season could be a real lesson to him...

I hope Lewis leaves the suspect world of F1 to implode in it's own imperialism. What an awful sport with even worse 'fans'

Dont worry SgtBhaji, spelling and grammer skills not needed here ;)

    Agree with you though:
    Less PR, more simulator...
    Less glamour, more focus...
    Less crashing, more consistency...
    Less talk, more thinking...
    Less plastics, more family...
Less Senna talk, more Lewis Hamilton...

Sort it out Lewis! And leave my check in the post, thank you bye bye, see you in Korea!
