I had reason to ring them today as my child had a problem with their eye, nothing major. Spoke to someone who said the eye was probably scratched & they’d need antibiotics. All ok so far. Then she asked for our postcode, told them it’s DH, Got no further before she said “In that case you’ll have to go to UHND A & E.” I’ve never been told that before & wondered if anyone knows why? We’ve been there a few times & never been a problem. I contacted local gp & they said they always tell people with eye problems to go there, had no idea why it’s changed. Sheer curiosity but Does anyone know the reason? Thanks
Probably Covid related. They may have distributed experts around the patch to stop people from different areas all congregating at the Eye Infirmary?
