Lasted two season then took the Portugal job, which he still has n 2025 in my save 1st season scraped 4th 2nd finished 8th and sacked
I’ve only done two saves too but one’s with Spurs - so he’s sacked immediately and another with Exeter, he got sacked in 2023 IIRC on my Exeter save.
I can never play with anyone but Liverpool, same when i used to play fifa, can't be playing with other teams Ive tried a few times to do a 3rd division side save and bring them to the prem and cl but I always lose interest real quick tbh
Yeah sometimes I lose interest in doing a lower league team but I often try getting either Exeter or Orient up a division or two. Sometimes I do a team in Scandinavia or another lower European league as well. Think it was FM 12 or 13 where I must have done about 12 years with Exeter, got them in the Prem and Europe. Was tempted to put it on my real life CV
I was always more into FIFA as I have no patience for the intricacies of FM, haven't played in years but my last season I took Wycombe to a domestic treble, which capped off our Champions League triumph the year before - a 10 season project all said and done. Bizarrely, Spurs in the game developed a fetish for signing Arsenal players so their starting line-up included Koscielny, Walcott, Gibbs and Djourou. It meant I didn't feel so bad beating Spurs in the FA cup final that year
Iirc, when last season restarted we had Kane and Son back from injury AND fully rested. Probably more important than Winks and Sissoko playing nearly every game.
At which point will it dawn on our manager that our biggest issue, and one we've had for three seasons now, is our midfield can't control games? Poch realised this, but he overcompensated to the point where trying to regain control in midfield left our flanks painfully exposed so his fix for the issue only served to create an entirely different issue. On the other hand, the ubermensch has been here for the best part of eighteen months but still seems to not understand that our midfield and and regularly will get overrun, and it often does with some of his tactical decisions, which is both exposing our defence while starving our attack Now it does have to be said this issue goes back to the 2018-19 season, where the rapid declines of Dembele and Wanyama left us using The Dreaded Winkssoko Pivot for the majority of the season so that we had something resembling a midfield that season, but while we have made efforts to replace Dembele with Ndombele and Lo Celso both showing they can play that role, where's the Wanyama replacement? No effort was made to sign one in the summer of 2019 even though we were remodeling our midfield that summer (and that was a year too late), while in the summer of 2020 we signed Hojbjerg who is better fitted for the Sissoko role rather than the Wanyama one - and certainly not suited for being run into the ground And this is the worry I have for next season, as people are pinning a lot on Ollie Skipp to break through - but if we can't control matches due to our porous midfield, he'll simply be another body to chuck onto the pitch just like The Dreaded Winkssoko Pivot was
We played the classic Tottenham way and lost in style 5-4 just like ive been hearing on here all season as being the best option to play and now I’m still picking up undertones of groans and moans about how it should have been different. jokes
I'm ambivalent as to how we play, providing that it gets the best out of the players that we've got and progresses the fortunes of the club. That is what I expect of a manager and when that ceases to be the case, it's time to look elsewhere. Can you tell me what's improved since we rightly sacked Poch for falling below what we should expect?
How detailed does the console one go? My laptop is 4 years old now and probably time to upgrade but tbh I only use it for fm so seems a bit of a waste to spend £700-£1000 on a new one just for that.
As I keep on saying time and time again to different posters. You’re all deluded if you think Houdini is going to come in and turn some of this shower of **** into winners...give him the defence he needs..a class CB and we can start judging. What has he changed in his first full season? It’s his first full season..unlike many posters I’m judging him using the same system used to judge other managers we have had. You’ve all been wanting to lose 5-4 playing swashbuckling football because you’ve all cited our attack as a strong point and our defence as a weakness....it’s much better than a boring 1-0 win where he sets us up to protect the defence. Once again it was demonstrated why he has such an approach ive been hearing whilst overseeing some great moments in our season so far. I’m refusing to buy into myths just because he tormented us whilst managing our rivals...that’s just pathetic. What did you see in the last year/18 months of Poch’s reign that makes you still question his sacking?
It doesn’t have to be the extremes though, there is a middle ground that I think would suit the strength of the current squad. Ultimately he doesn’t have the players to be overly defensive so as one of the best ever managers (according to many), then surely he can find a sweet spot and get the best out of the squad he has.
Like i said the database isn't as big obviously. You can only select up to 5 nation Leagues to make active. I think a few small features are lacking in the xbox one compared to the pc one but nothing that will make the game **** or much different I'd say. Last pc fm I played was 2012 so can't say really
The issue is that we could have peak Cannavaro and Baresi at the back and things wouldn't improve as our current tactics expose our lack of midfield control, because it doesn't matter how good your defence is if you continually put them under pressure It's pretty clear at this point our players are better suited to a mid block, which protects our defence and regains momentum higher up the pitch, yet we're constantly set up in a low block which simply doesn't work for the personnel we have, which is abundantly clear when considering The Dreaded Winkssoko Pivot didn't get overrun anywhere as near as often as any pairings we field right now, even though that pairing was the bane of our existence for 2/3 of a season Our entire centre needs strengthening, as at present there is no pairing of Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Winks or Sissoko that can adequately protect our defence - however, a pairing of NEW DM with either Hojbjerg or Ndombele absolutely would allow us to control games in midfield, and more importantly allow a low block to actually work as it wouldn't be under relentless pressure constantly It also has to be said a DM would allow us to use attacking fullbacks more effectively, for example when Poch had Walker and Rose bombing forward we would see either Dier or Wanyama drop in between the CBs so there was adequate protection should the move break down - but at present we don't have that, as Hojbjerg is expected to be both the DM and also the player who begins moves when in reality he needs to be one or the other, and this is what is causing a lot of things to break down during matches because it risks putting him out of position in a potentially high risk area and also isolates him from the more forward players
he let them play like you all want and have been screaming for on here, that didnt work. sounds to me like unless we have 3-0/3-1 wins every week because that suggests a good attack and not so great defence but ok enough to do the job, then there will always be an issue with the management. I can’t look beyond the players...some of them don’t deserve another manager at Spurs...they need to go. I’m going to keep on saying it...you can’t turn **** into gold. Who’s getting a tune out of Winks and Sissoko? and what tune do you think they can get? their ****e just accept it...we are going through, contemplating, trying to grow our balls as a club and hopefully tackling the necessary re build which the messiah Poch described as a ‘painful rebuild’. You want Potter to do the re build? I won’t judge our managers before I judge our players and owners....because it’s the same **** a different manager is sandwiched between. you can’t have it both ways...not with this defence...it was their in visuals last night. You want attacking football from this lot then the defence will suffer. Look at the teams that win the things that count and look at the defences they have...they don’t have passengers. like Fergie said ‘A good attack wins you games, a good defence wins you titles’ Our defenders are **** and that is why they need a couple of walls in front of them for protection. Hence why we have a good defensive record in the league...coz of these walls. If they were removed we would be lower than what we are...with lots of swashbuckling defeats all Leeds, no thanks. We should let the man do his job instead of being infatuated by some of these past it players believing they have something to offer.
