I have heard they're not going down the usual route of vaccination....Apparently they're using parazone!!! I was offered this form of vaccination and refused, infact I was so outraged I threw my dose back at one of the clergy providing the said detergent!!

I've now been charged with 'Bleach of the Priest'...

Has anything been said about 'key workers' getting an early vaccine?

I'm sure it's already been said on here, but I've not seen it.

    It would make sense, surely.

I think NHS workers have all been offered it ( all the ones I know have and only one has said no to the offer ) I think I saw somewhere that care workers have been offered it also. As for teachers and other key workers, I don't think that they have unless they fall into the age/vulnerable groups that have been offered it nationally

    Yep
    This is the case
A few have had it when vaccine centres have had some left at the end of the day, particularly at first while the system was getting sorted, so no vaccines are thrown away.
That's still happening a bit, but less than it was because the Oxford one stores better and they have got more lists of people in the age categories who can get in quickly if needed.
Sensible though rather than wasting any.

Will so called key workers get any sort of priority? I'm talking about shop workers, factory workers and such.

People's ideas of who are key workers will differ greatly I feel.

Average life expectancy in the UK - 81
Average age of a coronavirus death - 82

God bless this Elixir of Life <ok>

This is obviously misleading, and I suspect you know it is.

The average life expectancy of an 80-year-old man in the UK right now is 89; for women it's 90.

Various studies estimate the average number of years of life lost per Covid death is around 10-11.

We all know Covid is mainly claiming the lives of older people, but let's not pretend they were all at death's door anyway.

It was partly tongue-in-cheek, yes. My point was that the severity of the virus was/is greatly overstated. We've known that for about ten of the eleven months we've been 'in lockdown'. Initial panic amongst the public I can somewhat understand. Sticking with the madness for all this time I cannot. Had there not been an ulterior motive (which I suspect there wasn't, at least initially, with Boris and pals) there would've been a word of warning to over-70s about reducing time spent in public spaces or with large crowds, and the rest of us would've gone on as normal.

    That isn’t planned at present
All plans are based on age/medical conditions
Could change of course, and I know people are lobbying for Police to get it earlier, but I expect it won’t for shop workers etc

Obviously bar workers should have top priority. In fact pubs should be open now for people who have had the jab.
