Well if Jose told Hojbjerg not to pick up their main AM threat then I agree.

Or is Jose expecting too much of players by expecting them all to attack and defend, in particular Hojbjerg seems to be everywhere all of the time.

This seems to be true and is especially noticeable when Ndombele goes off (which is pretty much every game) - Hojbjerg is expected to up his contribution creatively and ends up out of position far too often. I think this is one key reason why we concede so many late goals. It would work if the player who replaces Ndombele (often Winks, Lamela, Sissoko or a FB) could control the midfield, but none of them can.

This is why Lo Celso's return is crucial as we could make more of a like for like swap by bringing him on and leaving Hojbjerg where he is meant to be.

I don't think it's a coincidence that in two of our more impressive displays this season, the wins v City and Soton, the substitution was exactly that: Tanguy off for Lo Celso, and in both games the latter contributed either a goal or an assist.

A lot of people say he looks like he doesn’t stick to his position and that leaves spaces for the opposition but surely if Hojbjerg wasn’t following Jose’s instructions then he would have been publicly slated and dropped like the manager has done with Dele and others.

I’m with you on this Spurf, I just think he is asking too much of Hojbjerg.

I do think Jose somehow destroys the confidence of those he doesn't select. Winks has been terrible this season as has Dele when both were perfectly ok at the end of last season. Doherty also looks devoid of confidence and who knows about Vinicius.

He was winning the player of the year each year til he was 33 then falls off a bit.

Milners at Everton, 38years old and playing regularly <laugh>

Milner never seems to age so they’re accurate there. Just maybe not the choice of the club <laugh>

Well I let him go on a free cos his wages were stupid for a old **** and he wouldn't sign a reduced deal.

Richarlison went to the chavs and is smashing it for em.

Anyways, enough fake footy before I get in trouble for derailing <laugh>

Important question: Are Dier, Sanchez, Winks, Sissoko, Doherty and Lamela still at the club?

Would be good to brace myself in advance.

    Lamelas at Bournemouth
Winks just signed a new deal, I know cos I was looking at him as a squad player (needed a homegrown one)

    Sissoko sold to RB leipzig

    Dier still there.

    Son still there

Sanchez was sold ages ago, he never fulfils his potential in the game.

Doherty doesn't play 1st team for you but he's still there.

**** sake I need to stop playing this<laugh>

What do you think of fm21? I think they made some good improvements but I find the match day ‘experience’ a bit cluttered and somehow it gives you more info as well as less.

It’s ridiculously addictive. I don’t really play games much anymore, PlayStation is more or less a dust collector but I do still play Footy Manager on the laptop. The hours I’ve wasted over the years though has been mental. I swear to god, especially when I was younger, there were days where it felt like I woke up, loaded up the game and then when I decided to call it a day it was 2am <laugh>

I love it, but then I've been waiting for FM on xbox since the thing came out on the original xbox years ago, console version is not as good as the pc version obviously, bit slimmer, but only in terms of database size and active Leagues, (5 max on console)

Bit of a head **** to get used to the interface on a controller, but after a day or so you fly through the menus easy enough once you get used to it. (You can buy a keyboard and mouse if you like)

So yeah I'm loving it tbh. 30 quid on the store and I got the mrs to buy as prezzy for Xmas so when she complains about me playing I just say "best pressy evah babez" <laugh>

    Know that feeling <laugh>

Do you find that Spurs sack Mourinho early doors on your save? I’ve done two saves so far and both times he was sacked in the first season

Nah, so I think you can get fm mobile, fm touch, and then the console and pc versions I think.

Ive not played the mobile or touch so ain't got a clue how they compare tbh.

And Yeh it takes a bit of getting used to on the controller but after a day or 2 it's easy as.
