I don’t have access to this so can’t see the plans they are revealing...

Didn’t realise you were talking about the free transfer list. Maybe a goalkeeper if there was one and if not try to improve Patterson and ditch the others in the summer, otherwise I think we need to not panic and keep being progressive not reactive. The time for that approach has clearly come .

As far as I'm aware there's nothing left to do.

Even the statement has been typed up.

There's another appointment, apparently, but it looks like that will now have to be after the statement. I was told it should've been done by now but it's all gone quiet on that front. I was told it would all be wrapped up by Tuesday, which seems to have been correct, but I took that to mean the statement would follow immediately. So I'm as much in the dark as anyone now.

Summary of what the Telegraph says that could be considered “new” news in that it’s the first time I’ve seen it in the press:

    • was behind appointment of Speakman and Johnson
    • Intends to move to the north east
    • Main priority is to keep academy at Category A
    • Donald and Methven to remain with shares but have no say whatsoever with the club
    • EFL and Sunderland won’t comment on status of checks but announcement expected imminently
    • No mention of Sartori at all

I was thinking Willis might need replacing until the end of the season with him being out long term. Some experience at RB and LB might be a good idea as would a keeper if there's a good one, I've had a couple of looks and nobody stood out to me but I dunno.

Long term absolutely no more veterans, youth all the way.

Are there any decent free transfers out there though? Also, does the limit on squad size still exist? If so, there is no room for manoeuvre I think

I LOVE the fact that he “doesn’t want to be seen as an absent landlord, so will relocate to the north east”

He’s going to be more hands on than I imagined

If that's the case then our hands are tied I guess, I don't know the situation there. I thought it was more the salary cap that had been holding us back.

Deffo some quality players on the list, whether in the positions we need I'm not sure.

Kirchhoff was only mid 20's when he signed for us, mate <laugh>

I still believe him to be the most talented footballer I've ever had the pleasure of watching in a Sunderland shirt.

I thought he might have been but with the experience he'd had and the maturity of his game I saw him as a veteran even if he wasn't that old. Great player damn shame about the injuries.

    He was class.
And a prime example of not writing a player off as ****e after one game.

I think the squad is limited to 21 players aged 21 or over. By my calculations, we have 20 players so there might be room for one more

Everything that has happened so far is because if KDF and his advisors. They won't consider failure. They won't take a single word of advice from Donald and Methven. It's what has been said on here previously by some on here.

It's a long project but everything is going to change.

I do find it interesting though as CM defo had a role if he wanted one, initially. I am sure people can work out themselves what has happened since <laugh>
