Great documentary on it, forget the name but lots of those kids are probably dead now. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt4103686/
ah i saw La Haine on C4 what seems a lifetime ago so probably before the millennium . Have to say thought it was ok but not all that but having said that i aint seen it since and back then i probably watched it when i got back from the pub .
Yeh when I 1st watched it it blew me away tbh Aint seem it for years myself now come to think of it, but always sticks in my mind when city of god is mentioned.
yeah i can see the connection just preferred COG but as i said i was probably / most likely pretty pissed when i watched La Haine so not necessarily fair comparison .
Gangs Of New York Shutter Island Lone Survivor Fury Warrior Pursuit of happiness Django Menace 2 Society Irishman The Gentleman You’ve probably seen them all but I’d watch any of those again.
I'll give both of those a look, thanks guise There's a foreign film which is known through word of mouth (bit like COG and La Haine by the looks of it) that I recommend which will blow your mind. Incendies. Well worth watching but may not be everyone's cup of tea. I thought it was excellent.
I've just seen those 4, all excellent imo. That's a good selection left to choose from Don't know why but Django never appealed to me for some reason.
I didn’t realise how violent that list was until I read it back Depending on what mood you’re in I’d say Lone Survivor first or Menace 2 Society first. Two of my favourite films for completely different reasons. M2S has a bangin soundtrack as well. I loved Django, just based how much of a bad ass motherfucker he is in the movie.
Django is a bad arse movie. Could watch that any time. Bout to stick on band of brothers again, started it the other night and watched the 1st 3, totally forgot how good it is, got fully into it and its like watching summin new cos Ive forgot it completely from the 1st time years ago. .
Black Hawk Down is one of my fave war films but doesn't seem to get much praise. Mcgregor almost ruins it though Tbf.
