You would think so, but I suppose the defence could say, how do you know that scream came from Libby? Just from my own gut feeling, I think it was Libby. But of course my gut feeling would be useless in a court of law. I think this **** raped and killed Libby Squire. But again, that's not enough to find him guilty of murder.
Your word is good enough for me. Let's face it, what he's already been found guilty of means he's not really going to be accepted into normal society. His life will be a misery, so he may as well stay locked up on a wing with a load of other muppets. The only downside would be if he really hadn't killed her, and there had actually been two predatory perverts in that very place ready to take advantage of the poor lass. I'd hate to think that **** walked free just because this guy's a weirdo.
It's just the way I see things, but I'd lock him and people like him away just for the perverted crimes we know he'd already committed. Even if it turned out he didn't kill her. What use is he to us?

This is part of my thinking without proof but what are the chances of 2 of the same psychopathic sexual tendencies been out in the same area on the same night. However to prove it? I think he has admitted rape without realising it.
But there might be a chance of rehabilitation dmd ? If he’s not murdered her as you say. it is some sort of weird fetish, whatever you want to call it. but no violence or aggression. He got 8 so will be out in 4 years time and he’s a young man. You’d hope he could turn it around in some way. in Poland obviously
The rehabilitation argument is reasonable, but I'd argue that if there are resources available to help repairs, then the priority should be on the victims.
It could, but at present, what little there is doesn't seem to be focused on the victim. I'd put making a deterrent to others above rehabilitation too. That's not decrying it as an option, I just feel it's not the top priority for finite funds. EDIT: I'm pretty much in the hang 'em and flog 'em camp. However, I was watching a few programmes that detailed an offenders crimes, then revisited their background and upbringing, and I could see how the 'system' had helped create the monster. Point being, I can have sympathy, but would still punish, but it does need something addressing in the system to reduce the chances of someone else heading the self and same way. As a society, we have to accept our responsibility, but that's not an excuse for the offender, or comfort to the victim.
But.... in this case, whatever the background, it is not the failing of a British system. 'It' chose to come here and was allowed to do so. I dont know what digging was done into offences. committed in his own country....
I can't begin to imagine what Libby's family have been through, but I would hope that this verdict will give them some sense of justice and relief amid the undoubted bleakness and grief that they must feel.
