It was better tonight but we are the home team, we are expected to be the aggressor. In reality we were better in areas but that positive still resulted in no shots on target. That now makes it 2 games with no shots on target.
I’m not sure there’s too much to be overly excited about tonight but maybe I’m just been to negative

Yet hitting the woodwork isnt a shot on target. That's a lazy analysis.

I’m just going by the stats, what’s lazy about that. The stats are the facts aren’t they ?

How many goals have our forwards scored since November? You could probably count them on one hand.

They're facts, like being inches away from 4 points from the last 2 is also a fact. It's the ones you wish to choose which defines who you are and your mentality.

Google something called self-confirmation bias. You may grow as a person.

We weren't bad tonight against a good side who sat in deep. Shaded the game and they'll be happier with a point than us based on the balance of play. That's a fact also, but you'll likely ignore it.

Enough. Truth is we've been blotting the clean sheet record too. Nearly did tonight with Greaves howler on half time.

How many goals our CB's and midfield scored this season?

Maybe that's where you need to be directing your scorn?

No scorn intended, I just agree with the consensus that we obviously need a genuine striker and that the lack of it could well cost us promotion. Hoping that our current forwards can provide the necessary goals isn’t backed up by the facts since November.

The 4-3-3 that we've been playing for the last 18 months. I don't count the **** attempts at changes he makes mid game.

We haven't started a standard, rigid 4-3-3 for weeks.

    Maybe that's the problem.?

We have them. Do we need A better, first choice central striker? Maybe....

There's plenty goals from our forward line so far, but they won't score every game.

The one sensible thing I've heard from McCann post match was tonight saying to the effect of....

"if the forwards get nullified, you should get goals from midfield, and if they don't put one in, a centre back from a set piece".

That's the difference between a squad that wins the league and one that looses the playoffs.

How many league goals have our midfield and centre-backs got this year?

Docs started looking likely, Honeyman assists can't be faulted but we need more goals from around the pitch. Where's n Anthony Gerrard, a Harry, a Turner, a Davies, a Delaney type who'll stick a couple of headers in?

And we need more from the midfield, cos when our strikers are occupying their defenders there's space there for goals from elsewhere.

Not without an attempt on target we won't.
I can live without scoring but to not make their goalie earn his crust in the last few games is piss poor.

    Fair point re the woodwork.
They may decide to employ the same same tactics at home to us, especially if they are a few points clear of us.
We would need to win and risk being opened up.

You say that, but to me KLP looked like one of the most naturally gifted finishers you could wish for, like he never really put much thought into it - he was a raw talent that produced the goods through the joy of playing football.

Now he's being coached on what to do in games (Grant McCann said as much in his post-match - said they've been telling him when to shoot and when to pass as he's been passing when he should shoot and shooting when he should pass) he's suddenly looking frustrated and over-thinking the goalscoring process.

He needs to get back to allowing his natural instinct to tell him what to do/where to be - that's when we see the best of KLP. That's when we see him out jump 6ft 5 centrebacks for a header in the back of the net.

I agree to an extent. However that argument only really works if you’re talking about a team with ONE striker. This team is set up - so we’re told - to have a front three, all of whom share that responsibility. We currently find ourselves in a situation where none of that front three, nor any of their replacements, have consistently hit the back of the bet for the best part of 10 weeks.
It’s no good asking why the rest of the team haven’t bailed them out.

He's 19, he needs a goal, and he's snatching his chances.

Happens to all strikers. Lewis is 19 though. Give him a bit of patience.

It's not the managers fault by sticking by him though. he's giving the lad the opportunity and keeping faith.
    Suggest you do the same.

I also think KLP should play down the middle and get the wingers to pass to feet. Magennis had absolutely no control of any pass played into him tonight. The ball just bounced off him.

He does need to stop whining to the ref every two minutes.
    Reminds me of Rooney.
