I'd say we have two hopes for this match 1) its away, for some reason we've slighly better away. (although the lack of crowds really shouldn't make H or A any difference) 2) Leicester might be knackered from playing FA cup midweek.
I think the biggest thing in our favour is the weeks break so some rest and more importantly some time on the training pitch to a ) reset the teams mindset and tactical positioning b ) integrate the new CB's into the team and train them in our style of play . PS does anyone know if Kabak speaks english .
too much time pissing about in the gym looking good and not enough time on a pitch working on systems.
there will be very little work on the training pitch this season due to the compressed fixture list .
There's a full indoor pitch to kick about on but the cameras don't seem too allowed to go near. Lots of look at how buff we are photos on the lfc website. It'd be interesting to know if training has in fact changed much since melwood. Have we fallen in love with all tje shiny new toys or is it just coincidence
shows how much i pay attention once we go out of cups. Leciester play tonight in fa cup. This could help us a bit on the weekend. i hope so.
I just hope we use Kabak and/or Davies because we really need to get Fabinho back in midfield, along with Hendo. Another reason why we're struggling is because our pressing game is massively down as a result. The front 3 usually press high up the pitch, and they have the support of the midfield behind them, providing a wave after wave of pressure. Fab, Hendo, Keita and pre-injury Ox are our best pressers. Gini doesn't actually press that much, Ox is nowhere near the levels he once was, and Thiago and Jones are both new to the system. Without this pressure in midfield, our front 3 are pressing too high without any support behind, the midfield are not offering much, and our back line is deeper than usual because we have no pace at CB. All in all, it means our players / lines have far too many gaps and spaces in between so no wonder there is no connectivity.
Only one of the those will play and it'll be alongside Fabinho. There is no way this is going to change until one of Gomez, Matip or VVD return
I dont know how good Davies is or how good he could be - but having Fabinho back in midfield is far better than in CB. We have to take the risk.
davies wasn’t even on the bench for city game. Agree with @Zanjinho i highly doubt they’ll both start unless we have another mini injury crisis.
what do we know about the pattern of this game. a) historically at least rodgers has bottled this game more often than not and tried to sit off us and hit on break. b) fairly regularly in other games Leicester have killed teams with the press c) Leicester played midweek d) we have had a week off to think. e) leicester are ahead of us in the table and a loss would almost doom us to a race with cheslea for 4th. We need to get this team selection right and the players picked must sow some courage and work ethic. Must win game imo
Agree that it’s a game we should win. Leicester has only one way to play and we have to get our tactics right. Jones has to play. He has been one of our few creative players recently. Forget about Milner. As soon as he appears in the team sheet it will provide a boost to Leicester. One of Fabinho or Henderson will play in defence, should be Fabinho as Henderson is more needed in midfield and Fabinho better than Henderson as CB. Too early for both new recruits to play. With Mane coming back, it should improve our striking power although Firmino is down from his best form atm. We should still have too much for Leicester. 1-2 Salah. “e) leicester are ahead of us in the table and a loss would almost doom us to a race with cheslea for 4th.” I wouldn’t discount Everton just yet for the fight to 4th. They have games in hand and within striking distance.
err Leicester definitely have more than one way of playing these days .They regularly play a possession gased game but can still play deep and hit on the break . Fabinho at CB is a slight worry against the speed and clever running of Vardy however if Justin is out that is a real blow for them as he has been really good this season .
