Wijnaldum is again doing nothing Fabinho has failed to get up the park at all. milner is in the LB slot not CM. robertson is jogging back. Trent has finally realised he needs to get back having a second or two earlier tried to sprint the other way.
At this point all our shape is gone. But fabinho can save the day. he moves to a scuffed ball forward and can ge tit. note robertson again stops up. Those pictures show how little some of the players are moving, highly disappointing. The keeper is struggling and under pressure, players should be killing themselves to get back and crowd out the box.

I think its foden out there and he's reacted and you can see hes is rewarded for sprinting back. eager, hard working. the exact opposite of what we did. By now milner is right into midfield. hes not thought about the shape at all. you can just make out robertson finally deciding he needs to get back. Shaqirri is already out of it. Now its full on oh **** moment. too late shaqiri is again moving back but out of it. milner is out of it. robertson is final realising his postion is exposed. Hederosn was out of the line after his interception so is the only guy who can go near foden. wijnaldum is again not in a position to help. he's been ball watching all the time so theres a runner he cant get near either. foden is strong and quick and brilliant and beats henderson easily as robertson finally gets close please note that firmno has managed to beat milner back in and obviousl shaqiri is still jogging about doing nothing. Fabinho is drawn way too far in and is not covering the real danger. he had to rely on henderson to stop foden there. Now he is out of the game. Trent is badly exposed but again hasnt really seen the danger and is still back stick when theres no CB. He should he on pen spot area. now there's two city players in free and clear. one of which shaqriri let do and is now 20 yards behind
trents managed to sort of get over to one of the two dangers. alsisson is now out of goal covering foden. Fabinho is coming towards him. Sterling is free and screaming for it. wijnaludm has wandered into the middle and not really picked up there are 1, 2,3,4 options now for foden to pick out and he could shoot.

I would contend that in this position the ball has to go down the line not infield but thats what happens. Again see good city pressure. Fabinho playing this infield means only the only ball wijnaldum even has is back to keeper. he is marked.
If you watch you will see Alisson has never got himself set for a clearance. He's come onto this ball very lax indeed. what his thought process here is impossible to say s fabinho is the absolutely worst option. we see shaqirri wandering back here. (never an option) and wijnaldum thinks its over and has switched off.

wijanludum tried to cover the run. trent decides that the cut back for shot is most danger ( i would not agree but he has an impossible choice i suppose) Shaqirir is on the edge of box. milner is only appearing. just a final special mention to wijnaldum here. He has sort of gone to challenge or block. he is the only hope but pulls out of it. He had to at least get a block in or dive at it and hope but he does neither. commitment?
