Steve Burns song Mighty Little Man This was used as the theme song to the Big Bang Theory prequel Young Sheldon. Did you know that Zoe Perry who plays Sheldon's mum Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon is the real life daughter of Laurie Metcalf who played the same character in The Big Bang Theory?
It sure has been a tough week for all Saints fans and everyone at the club so now seems a good time to play a great track from ELO along with some very talented dancers to brighten things up .....
Having a late nite music session. If i was tech savvy I’d post a link but that’s outta my remit .... “the feelies; loveless love” - they are dare I say, USA punk originators! For any golden oldies out there; indie guitar, punk; this is pure magic.
Another play of Orbiting on Radcliffe & Maconie's show this morning. 20min 33sec in - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000s0rt Followed, not unknowingly, by Portishead!
This is a lovely cover of a Grant Hart song about the early days of flat sharing of my favourite band, Husker Du....
I am not really a fan of rock but think that the Norwegian guitarist Terje Rypdal has always managed to harness it into a truly original perspective. He has covered some pretty diverse territory after originally sounding like an avant garde Hank Marvin through to the Chasers band of the late 1980s which took it's cure from Prince. He has almost composed classical works as well as having a career in pop music too. I really love this stuff. The track "Per Ulf" is superb - I love Jon Christenen's drumming. The opening of this programme is very atmospheric too.
Remembering Stefan Cush of The Men they Couldn't Hang, a local band who I saw countless times, who died last friday. He took the lead on this catchy nearly-hit. R.I.P Stefan, you were alright for a Pompey lad.
Ah, gutted to read this, one of my favourite local bands. He sang lead on what I believe is the definitive version of this Eric Bogle anti-war classic... R.I.P. Stefan....
My search led me on to this interesting video about the real "man they couldn't hang" with accompanying music from the wonderful Fairport Convention....
