Spot on buddy. Honestly I feel like a little bit is off my shoulder and I’m seeing things for what they are. My missus was surprised I posted on here last night. She thought it was a good thing. I was worried that some people would maybe laugh it me but I’m actually overwhelmed but the comments and posts.

In its self that’s made me a bit happier because it restores your faith in humanity.

Absolutely. You know the trick, whatever you are eating, make sure you know what's in it.

This is possibly the key reason why I’ve gone down lately. I love football. I love nufc and I love playing. I’ve played 3 times a week for decades and now it’s not on it’s just removed a big part of life. The toon being **** hasn’t helped lately either but I still get some form of happiness watching.

The booze is an issue I agree but it’s not a serious problem in my own mind as I drink half as much as I used to and never ever get pissed now. I am at the age now where I fall asleep before I get drunk. I ever put fizzy water in white wine. Lol

When you are feeling anxious, and down, you need to know that what you are suffering is an exaggeration of what you would feel when you are in a "normal" state. Getting back "on the level" is the key. You will get there, mate, just give it time.

Mate, this is really important. Facebook and the like are like trailers, not movies, they filter out all the **** so never for a second think anyone's actually doing that crap - they're all struggling just as much. That's not an excuse, it's just a fact - never compare your life to others, because you never know the facts and it only matters how you feel.

Anyone who’d laugh are those going through it themselves but haven’t got the bollocks to own it and voice what’s going on. Too many people have a persona they like to give off to everyone without expressing there true feelings/thoughts.

If everyone took a leaf out of your book mate the world would be a better place. Your missus will be immensely proud of you & rightfully so. It takes courage to open up the way you have.

Just remember mate, if you’ve wanted to express how you’re feeling to us on this board mate, it’s a reminder that your life has meaning & that’s the most important thing, meaning. You mean a lot too a lot of people. You’re unique mate, carry on being you, tell people what’s wrong, be honest & you’ll be just fine.

Take up another sporty hobby, mate. Join a walking or running club, I am sure they will still be happening.

It is crazy how those little red notification buttons on social media and phones etc release chemicals in your brain and how a picture from someone can make you feel inside.

I try not to use social media more than 10 mins a day just in case the family have any exciting/important news. If you find yourself scrolling through for no reason try and put the device down and grab a book or go for a walk etc.

I love the ultra low carb life mate. My body feeds on ketones now instead of sugars/carbs. You don’t get the crash like with carbs.. it’s constant high energy. Good for the brain too apparently.

    Love the Keto life.

Very true. I came off Facebook today. I’ve enough negativity or positivity (depending on which way you look at it) to deal with.

I’ve stopped watching the news now too mate. They all have agendas and I’m sick of the constant government bashing. Don’t get wound up as much at all now.

I’ve been told I’m unique for years. Ha ha. But seriously thanks for the comments. I guess maybe this thread might strike a cord with others and skin some positivity in these threads. I know I can be negative. But at the same time I love the crack.

The missus was thinking I was mental yesterday posting it.

It’s simple. I want to be happy. I don’t know what that is?

Aye, but what is happy? Maybe even that is a false state of mind? I try more to be stable, on the level. Not too many highs, and not too many lows. More balanced!

I don’t think many people do know the true answer to what is happiness, my mate.

Most people wear a mask, they hide their true identity. These days everything’s for show, there’s no realness to most folk.

Some people say money is happiness, I agree, to an extent, money ofcourse does bring happiness, but it doesn’t bring the most important happiness, which is a feeling money can and never will buy. Happiness to me is feeling useful, feeling like you’re making a difference in the world wether how small or large that may be. You’ve done that and continue to do that with the lovely family you’ve made for yourself.

You sound like an ambitious man who wants to keep achieving no matter how many things you’ve succeeded in. I’m a bit like it, I always want more & more. It’s like at work the other day I had a great day but because I never got the highest percentage marks (I came second) I was disappointed, where as most people would have been over the moon.

There’s nothing wrong with having that mentality but folk who do have it tend to feel like they are “letting themselves and others down” an awful lot.

Like others have said on here, finding a hobby would do you the world of good. It will stimulate your mind, whilst giving you a new exciting project to focus on. You sound a great person mate & sound like you’ve got your head screwed on, like I said previously, if every other person (male especially) did what you’ve done the world would be a much happier place. We’d all be expressing our emotions without being too afraid of knocking our pride. The real men open up.

Has anyone got any secret talents/party pieces? I can juggle four, did it yesterday in a shop across the road from me. Another customer looked on, gobsmacked. "Mate, that looks great", he said. Gave me a nice inner warm glow! It helps the mental wellbeing.
