But surely if you are sozzled all the time you run the extreme risk of falling off the edge of this Flat Earth, non?
When they tried it in the USA about 100 years ago, alcohol consumption actually increased, and the Mafia built there power base. Now some states have legalised cannabis, and seen their tax revenues go through the roof. No going back on that now...
It's open season for drug dealers now. Technically cannabis is legal to sell to Government approved outlets but growers can't get insurance and banks won't lend or store earnings because legitimate cash is hard to separate from non-legal cannabis profits. Police don't take inter-grower drug thefts seriously so in a nutshell it is all good for the consumer but still a perilous venture for the producers and distributors. A bit like seagulls nicking fish of smaller birds, easy pickings and none of the hard work. States only have a finite resource to monitor legal production so black market growing goes on with just as little control as pre-legalisation. Instead of having to focus on minor drug infringements US Police are now free to investigate other crimes such as drug addicts using counterfeit money in shops. So all you midnight tokers are to blame for the death of George Floyd, he may have escaped arrest if the Feds were nicking you instead. Murderers!
I was pissed and high for the best part of 25 years mate. It's still quite a pleasant novelty having a clear head and no hangovers tbh.
I'm 54. When I was a lad my hangovers were debilitating, but I can only remember having two in the last 20 years. I am often in the gym or running by 9am the morning after a big session.
That was William, I think. Socialist entrepreneur, artist, co-founder of the Arts and Craft movement. On a barely related note, have you seen the Ian Dury biopic with Andy Serkis? There’s a brilliant line where Ian’s son asks him - because they live in a big house in Richmond - “Dad, are we posh?” Dury thinks for a moment before replying, “No son, we’re Arts and Craft”
Serkis was excellent in that filum. On another barely related note I once did a gig in The William Morris club in Wimbledon. And we had a lairy William Morris sofa from Habitat in the 70's.
Had to cancel my romantic Valentine weekend to Aberdeen. https://www.rte.ie/news/coronavirus/2021/0209/1196009-quarantine-uk/
