You weren't bullied by Cardiff at all yesterday - you were outplayed tactically not physically. If anything you had the bullies in Mawson and Lansbury. The poor quality of your football was down to you and nothing to do with "the opposition" other than your inability to cope with it.

You came unstuck playing a better side who were organised. They had a plan to beat a hotchpotch cobbelled together outfit with square pegs in round holes organised by a manager who is clearly out of his depth.

From what I've seen so far this season, your points total far exceeds your footballing ability. Teams usually get what they deserve and we over here have very often deserved nothing from our games earlier this season. Yesterday we were just better than you on the day - nothing to do with physicality.

I am not disputing who were the better team, but you were up for the physical challenge of the game and we were not and very rarely are, I am not suggesting that you kicked us off of the park, I am suggesting we could at least attempted to make a fight of it.

Lansbury was a twat and should have been sent off, but both he and Mawson had been on the receiving end of Wilson who was diving around all over place and stamped on Lansbury, the referee was poor for both sides, but as so called professionals should not have reacted in the way that they did.

Congratulations on your win you deserved it.

    Cheers. <ok>

Unfortunetly, both "diving about all over the place" and thuggery are a part of the game these days.

They are totally different from making the most of an obvious foul and physical presence in the challenge, both of which Cardiff excelled at.

What I meant about Howe needing someone to do the transfers, was not a defence of Ashton. I think as soon as he signed DH on the dotted line he should of been shown the door. However on the face of it which ever way we look at it, SL thinks Ashton is the bees knees and can’t see him leaving.
Until SL sees that we won’t move on with him calling all the shots, we are stuck with him.

Then you can appoint who you like as manager , I take you point but until SL recognises MA is the problem we will struggle, maybe if we appointed a manager who kicked back and made SL aware of MA’s shortcomings that might work. I know I’m kinda contradicting myself, ultimately MA has to go and we need a proven at this level strong character to shake things up, the sad thing is I can’t see it happening, but something has to happen, and quickly, or else this time next year we’ll be in a relegation fight.

I know you weren't defending Ashton, what I am saying is I believe Ashton has got to go full stop for our club to move on to the next level (and I know that the likelihood of that are slim to none) he has failed as much if not more than the previous manager and the latest manager but he has had a free pass.

I believe that a majority of fans have had enough of 3 years of an incredibly poor, uninspiring product, I believe that at times the team look as though they just don't care and they lack fight. I believe that the fans are fed up with being there or thereabouts up until January and falling away without even a whimper, I believe they are fed up with the excuses and the BS about quality, I believe that they are fed up 'hoping' that in the closed season that they will sign some quality that will hopefully take the club to the next level, only to see those hopes dashed by an uninspiring January window, where instead of signing to enhance their chances of success they sign mainly dross that are so bad that they are even worse than the players already failing and soon get benched and this January we managed to trump all of the above by not signing a left back, that is unforgivable.

Well that's certainly how I feel, the only thing in the clubs favour is the lack of crowds but I can see a shock on the horizon once they start begging for season ticket sales

Nah Bristols Citys early points were earnt. did ok had a few good habits organised and put some wins up on the board,

Yep seems Dean Holden kept Lee Johnsons tombola machine dusted it off and has started spinning it. Nobody could tell what side he will pick and what formation,. If Holden was two feet shorter and talked about the yin and yang of being world class in the simplicity of the clutch phase i might believe Johnson was still here.

Forgive me, I must have missed those early games then...<laugh> :emoticon-0105-wink:

I'll just finish up by saying it was a good win for us, but tempered by the fact that it was against a poor team. <ok>

Hate to say it but it's partially correct, we are a poor team, in fact 3 wins out of our last 8 is a crap team performance but our overall league position at the moment makes Cardiff not that brilliant either, Cardiff played 27, league position 14th, points 34, Bristol City played 28, league position 10th, points 39, at the moment our seasons performance is better.

Cardiff have acted, they put in a proven manager with a track record, backed him in the transfer window and they are moving swiftly up the table, we have stuck with the Mark Ashton leadership, do nothing, stick with what we've got, no real support in the transfer window and we continue to spiral downward.

No wonder they are having a subtle crow at us but unless a miracle happens they will be up there in the top 10 and we could be in a relegation fight.

Like I said earlier, it's not where you are, it's more about where you're going that matters.

We've been simply atrocious at times, beaten easily by the likes of Coventry and Wycombe on their grounds, and humiliated by Swansea on our own. There was no getting away from it, our table position reflected our form - it had to stop.

Whether Mick is the right guy for the future remains to be seen, but he's the right guy for now. Whilst most were calling for Harris' head, there was a fear amongst fans that the Board would sit in it's hands and it would end up too late to stop the slide. Thank God they acted and we can already see the difference.

I agree, unlike some who have buried their heads in the sand, this has been us for 3 years now, the really good performances are incredibly few and far between, entertainment value virtually zero, we have only managed 3 goals or more only 9 times in the past 119 league games and counting.

As for your last sentence, I suspect you have heard that as much as we have so far this season, enjoy the win, it was well deserved, but Swansea you or us ain't not by a long chalk.

Mick's biggest problem will be when there is a slump in form, because he will not hold back on his criticism of his players and the test then will be whether or not the poor little princesses (aimed at 90% of footballers, not just Cardiff) will react when he tells them that unicorns don't exist and they are due a stay on the naughty step, more importantly he won't leave your owner out of any criticism, he's far too honest for that, always good entertainment to hear him speak. He is not frightened to leave big players out and big players and owners don't tend to like that.

He once said of Jay Emmanuel Thomas when answering a question about why he was sold to us "one day he plays like a world beater and the next he plays like a panel beater" and boy was he right, Jay could have had the world at his feet but I think it was all too much effort at times.

Nothing to forgive i dont watch the Gases early mid or later games or Cardiffs. early doors and early wins City played 3-5-2 now its a lot more numbers x a lot more players x how the wind blows down the portway = Not surprisin worse results. Football isnt as complicated as LJ and now DH make it.

We had JET - complete waste of space with us despite his obvious ability.

Mick doesn't often openly criticise players, he does that more by his actions rather than words. He's already done that in the short time he's been here by benching Harry Wilson. He was an ever-present under Harris despite his often sub standard performances - he thought he was bomb proof. Mick came in and dropped him for the first two games - that appears to have woken him up and make him play for his place rather than expect it.

The disappointing thing is we were easily beaten by a poor team, but one that has a decent manager who used obvious tactics that we weren’t able to counter.

    Congratulations on the win though
