Not only that, but we have to pay 20 mil each for Thiago and Jota ( I think), plus 18 mil if we want to make Kabak permanent. So that's 58 mil just to stand still. Based on our past spending, we're not bringing anyone major in unless someone goes for big money. Wijnaldum will probably also go. Milner maybe as well as he's getting older and older, but we might hang on just to have a body there. Fabinho, Henderson and Thiago isn't a bad first choice three, if not the youngest, but beyond Jones, who's still young, there's not much else there given that Keita and Ox barely manage five games in a row.
There may not be any major spending going on in the summer, not just for us but many other clubs aswell.
I get what you are saying but as quite a few have pointed out Hendo in midfield allows Robbie and Trent to flourish so he might not score directly but allows us to play how we play at our best That’s why we miss him when he is injured imho more than any other player
We've not had scoring midfielders since Coutinho left; CL finalists, CL winners, PL winners and champions of the world since, but yeah, our midfielders not scoring is definitely the problem...
Yep, after being near perfect for three years, the strikers have given up (your words), we can't defend (because we refuse to play inexperienced defenders), the managers lost the plot (see last point) and the keepers started giving gifts to the opposition (I make that two bad games since he joined). We're doomed (apparently)... Modern day football eh? I'm off to find a new sport PS... calling for, or threatening to call for a manager's head a few short months after winning the league for the first time in thirty years and delivering our most successful football in decades is shameful to say the least. #youllneverwalkalone
This^ It's in the (relatively) difficult times like now when the team needs our support - not when they're carrying all before them.
Our team doesn’t rely on the midfield to score though and never had under klopp. It’s not the style. We have 3 workers who do the hard graft, press and win the ball and then give it quickly to the front 3 plus the two full backs who push on. That’s why the full backs get a lot of assists because the midfield do all the hard work covering. Now it would be lovely to have one chip in with 10 goals, but then you need a totally different midfielder and there aren’t many that can score 10 and put the hard graft and unselfish part of the game. You’re talking about a truely world class midfielder then, and hard to come by. now unless klopp changes our style completely (and maybe he needs to) but last 3 years we’ve got to 2 CL finals, won one, won a league, won a super cup, won a club World Cup playing that way so a poor blip in a very odd congested season where blighted with injuries to key personnel to our style isn’t the time to dramatically change your style.
