It astounds me that gridiron and basketball are increasing in popularity in this country If you want to follow American pop culture then why not ice hockey or baseball? They're great sports
I like ‘gridiron’ but basketball is ****. It’s like playing five a side with no keeper. Ice hockey is a bit **** now they don’t fight anymore Baseball is ok. Only ever been to a live game in Canada, but I enjoyed it (and got very pissed) Opinions eh
Basketball is one of very few sports I simply don't get. For me, baseball and ice hockey are both good if you're actually there. Following ice hockey in particular on TV can be tough. But the NFL is just perfect for TV - I was hooked from day one when C4 showed it in 1982.
It was great when Nicky horn did it. Then they got rid and let some complete twats do it. Was great then tho all Washington- theisman riggins art monk San Fran -Montana rice Craig Lawrence Taylor at ny Marino at the dolphins Loved it
Enjoy the BBC1 coverage this season Mind you Dan Walker normally looks like he’s just got off working in a building society branch.
Weren't they called "The Dangerous Boys" or something like that? Absolute bellends. That was a dark year or two until Mick Luckhurst took over.
Great to go too also. You can get plenty of beer during the game . I think people that criticise it dont give it a chance or have even watched !
I was intending to stay off this thread, as it can get a bit predictable, and it's to each their own, but I thought I'd cob my two pennerth in. I quite like ice hockey, and I agree with you on basketball. I gave baseball a look, and asked at a game if they normally warmed up for so long, and was told the game had started about half an hour ago, at which point I left. Years ago, when it was on in the early hours on terrestrial, a few mates got quite in to American Football, so I tried to give it a go. Despite their best efforts, beyond being a decent excuse to get pissed up, I thought it was even more pathetic than the American Wrestling. If people enjoy it, that's fine by me, but I just found it it dull, drawn out and pointless.
Think I can remember the cowboys vs the Indians But definitely remember “ the fridge “ a most unlikely sport hero there ever was... big, fat, dopey twat but for 5-10 yards a ****ing tank....
Wasn't it William Perry? Something like that anyway. I think they called him the fridge as he came across as a someone that you couldn't tell if the light was on or not.
What I find irritating about the Super Bowl is that they keep breaking into the adverts and singing to show snippets of men in padding and helmets bumping into each other.
