Alisson just clears the ball and who knows.. not overly concerned about defence, we know we’re missing 3 centre backs, but hopefully shows klopp that its no better playing Hendo there than someone like Phillips or kabak or Davies. worrying thing is that still look toothless going forward. No one wants to run with the ball. look at all city’s goal. Pen, sterling ran. 1st goal, sterling runs. 2nd goal, Foden runs at defence.. 3rd and 4th the same. It’s like our forwards are scared of potentially losing it by being tackled so just passing off easy ball and taking no risks.
That's 3 goals absolutley thrown in. Anyone can make and error but then Allison, Henderson and fabinho fail to clear lol. On the second on where is the midfield option. Milner on pitch 5 mins and up the park ball watching. Disgraceful stupidity but we didn't deserve anything from 0-1 and even salahs pen was cheap. No intensity, no running, nobody too bothered tbh. Alisson was playing ball off the outside of his foot after his two stupid error and that foden shot was actually straight through him Imo that side won't get 4th. Carragher is right. 3 and 4-1 down and salah is fetching the ball and 40 yards from goal. Absolutely sums the who thing up.
My main concern is how Klopp will react to this. We've been on a constant upward trajectory since he arrived and this is the first time he's had to deal with a downward slide.
Btw if I see any midfielders play cb after this game now I will be calling for klopps head. He has 4 but a seriously misfiring midfield. I can forgive today as there was little time to get anyone in but he's got a a week now to work and then it simply has to be fabinho no 6 from here on in this season. No more rubbish now. Time to wake the fuc k up.
Well that was awful, I missed the 1st half hour of the game. Absolutely fuming to see Hendo and fab at cb tbh, was hoping the signings of Davies and kabak would mean we'd play at least Hendo in the middle again and take what results came. I'd be happy with that cos for me that's the best of a bad situation and a foundation to improve from. Allison having a mare aside we were not good enough city controlled the midfield and it was always gonna be hard work from there. Didn't expect a win before the game but to lose another game with hendo and fab at the back is a joke for me when we have the option to play at least one of them back in mf. Questions need to be asked of klopp if that continues.
We can blame Alisson all we want for this game, and tbh those 2 mistakes were bad, but the whole team lost that and the biggest problem imo was the midfield. Whilst Hendo and Fab didn't exactly cover themselves in glory, we remember they are CM playing in the wrong position. What is the excuse for Thiago and Gini and then Milner and Shaqiri? (I can forgive Jones somewhat as he is still very young) The Midfield has been excruciatingly poor this season. Too slow, too many passes, offering no protection, lack of goals, lack of shots and too often games pass them by, its all so crap. The teams needs a change for the next game, Thiago and Gini need to come out, they're in a poor run and need time out. Hendo and Fab need to come back into the Mid and allow CBs to actually play CB (how much worse can they be than what we've seen recently?)
How many goals have our midfield scored this season? Both Man City and Man Utd have proper goalscoring midfielders. Our midfield has probably scored less goals than either Fernandes Gundogan this season. When your forwards are failing you then have to have midfielders who can take up that burden. We don’t.
Ali ffs.......what are you doing? Lets face it, no side can sustain a title challenge in this league without any CB's. We have been extremely unfortunate this season. I'm not fearful of missing out on top 4, and agree with most that at least one of Hendo/Fab have to get back in the middle of the park
Like winning, losing can become a habit. We desperately need to clear our heads now and look to the next matches. This match is now gone. Champions league places now a top priority. Let’s urgently integrate the new CBs and get winning matches. Draws are no good.
We got better when Klopp started building the team from the back. The back is the backbone of the team, moving Henderson and Fabinho from midfield to the back has been a disaster because they are playing out of position.
I've said all week there's no chance of seeing either of the new recruits being played in this game, so no surprise there as far as I'm concerned. I did think perhaps Phillips could have kept his place.
