Got me thinking last night about a guy I once sold a few cars to from Campbeltown, his name was Gavin Strang.

Everybody I met from there after that knew of him. <averycloseknitcommunity> I did that in my best Tony Roper voice - no idea why.

Yep, he was a year above me in the school, he has a few elder brothers too. His brother Bruce and his wife got banned from the new restaurant in the town a few weeks ago for being caught riding in the bogs. So the rumour goes anyway.

Gavin and his mate tried robbing an old woman at a farm house when they were about 16, think they tied her up but didn't think it through at all and got caught about 20 minutes later. Was weird, as not as if they are from poor families, they weren't short of cash. Think they wore balaclavas and it was the time when the film The Mask was out so that was their nicknames for a while. Gavin has a scar on his cheek where the brake handle of a quad bike went through it or something, always into his cars and motorbikes etc. Not seen him in years, decent enough guy.
