Agree on both points. There is talk of switching the legs so we play at home first and the ban is lifted in time for the 2nd leg. Some would argue that gives Leipzig an advantage?
I think this season's European competitions should be postponed and resumed this time next year and internationals should be scrapped until further notice. We're in the middle of a global crisis and unnecessary travel across borders shouldn't be encouraged. The sooner we get on top of this the sooner we can get back to some semblance of normality. The entertainment provided by domestic competition is a valuable means of keeping us all sane (apart from us and @Libby of course), but country-hopping is irresponsible.
Football authorities' logic: Problem: Offside rule is too complex. Solution: Make it more so. Problem: VAR and football aren't really suited to one another. Solution: Change football. Problem: Due to the risk to life of sending people across borders, team from country A cannot travel to country B. Solution: Send teams from countries A and B to country C. I suppose this all makes sense to somebody.
Disgraceful scenes at villa. They are trying to break saka's leg 2 yellows only. The second one the guy took a dive and rolled about but advantage was played and he hopped straight up . Stamped on saka.
Bang on. Look at what's happening with the Australian Open tennis, it's total chaos and their complete ineptitude is setting Australia back, remember this is a country that have had only a tiny amount of cases in comparison to the rest of the world because of how they got on top of it. And if you want to talk about asterisks, whoever wins the tournament this year should probably have one since it's not going to be anything like a normal, full strength tournament. Anyway, different sport but similar principles apply to footy, like you've said
I know the media are fawning over Villa, because Grealish plays for them, but they are a very cynical team where players take turns to foul the oppositions' best players thus spreading the yellow cards throughout the team. Although I would not mind swapping Origi for Watkins
Mike dean yet again showing the world that this is the Mike dean show and not a game of football... Youd think after getting the bednerak one wrong midweek (given the ref was rescinded) he’s still ok to ref another game and now sent another one off for absolutely nothing. pathetic, guy has an obsession with trying to see himself a star of the show and only way he can do that is buy dishing out cards. It’s like he knows he’s top of the all time prem card list and wants to extend that record.
more important for them that united finish higher up the table then Liverpool, then everton get into the CL
