The injuries at CB have made us use Alioski at LB. He hasn't been great but he hasn't been the worst either. Its a shame we didn't get the Croatian lad in as I reckon he would have played alot of games. I think moving forward we need to strengthen at LB and CM this summer. In a perfect world a top striker and a goalkeeper.
I'm so sure Rodrigo de Paul will sign for Leeds United this summer that I'm prepared to have a scum avatar for a week if he doesn't. ps void if Bielsa leaves before next season.
If things had been different we would have signed a top LB instead of Llorente and had a solid defence. Yes due to injury to Koch we would have seen Struijk stamp his mark earlier. By signing De Paul we would have had cover for the times Phillips has been missing and still had the creativity going forward as well as defensively. When Phillips available you also get De Paul at either 8 or 10 adding top stats, assists and goals. Pablo getting more game time still having Raphinah doing damage. So believe we would have conceded far fewer goals and that would mean a couple more draws and a win, so 5 points more and guaranteed safety. Hindsight is wonderful and then it would be me versus Bielsa and he may be better at this than me?
Cellino sacked his 4th manager of the season this week, and yesterday appointed his 5th in Pep Clotet
Well he knows all about the "lord sugar" of chairmen so he's either desperate for a job or sugar's lost his marbles and offered him plenty moolah....if it goes the way of his normal appointments then pep might regret going another round and think he's been a "clot"
I've been paying close attention to Allioski due to the comments passed on him. I agree that he lacks pace against many wingers. No doubt about that. But I'm not so sure he has any other specific faults truly worthy of mention. He has many other assets, which must surely be obvious to everyone, given that Bielsa regularly picks him, & reportedly wants to keep him. Off ball, he's always available to our attack, tying defenders up in knots with his runs, making space & therefore aiding our attacks. He can run with the ball, tackle, harry & tackle. Not only is he one of our best headers of the ball - especially being so short too! - he's got a belting shot that doesn't get utilised often enough. The other major asset he has onfield is his mouth. Watch him really piss of whoever he's marking - nag, nag, nag. They hate it! And finally, he's a major asset in the changing room. Life & soul of the party. No, let's be honest, the real final compliment is that he bagged our Emma! Kudos to the wee man, if true, of course!
always good to have someone like him onnthe bench because he offers something different. From getting in the face of the opposition, for winding opposition up, he is liable to hit the odd screamer for a spectacular goal. He is however not fast enough to play LWB. He isnt the best tackler, he has a stupid mistake him every half hour. So not good enough for the first team but a good utility player anywhere on the left
Alioski is very clever with the ball in small places under pressure. He usually finds a man. It's the odd brain fart that let's him down. Unfortunately at this level mistakes get punished. He has done a solid job for us this season and has had at least 2 man of the match performances.
Don’t know if any of you are watching the football but how the hell are West Ham near the champions league places???
Seriously, we are the only team worth watching as a neutral and a fan. Bielsa when asked said he’d rather finish 12th with good performances than 6th by basically parking the bus. Amen to that in these dire times.
Fulham managed a point against WHU but still leaves them 14 points behind Leeds. Basically they would need to win 5 games on the bounce whilst we lost 5 to overtake us. So logically they are still in deep doodoos with WBA and the Blunts behind them
If we let slip that kind of a gap to get overtaken,it will be the biggest capitulation since I gave into the wife over a new kitchen put the eagles back in their nest and I'm positive that we would be looking at the bottom 3 from a gap bigger than Watford
Fella's fella's fella's, stop fretting about the bottom 3. Focus now is where are we going to finish between 10th+14th, I'm going dead centre of it....12th
So according to Gerald Krasner (Remember him) he said he would have Wigan out of administration by October as there are 6 consortiums trying to buy the club. One is a Bahraini outfit thought to be backed by GFH Banking love the way football is circular as today I reported on Cellino and now these shysters with Krasner as Administrator
