McCann is just not savvy enough to change things. He gets out thought and outfought. He couldn’t do it in the Championship. He can’t make players fight for him. Even if we get promoted what’s the point in having him. He just hasn’t got it. Let’s see if he blames himself totally for this loss. Now that would make a ****ing nice change.
City just never got going - lots of lumping the ball forward to a front line who seemed incapable of controlling the ball on the few occasions when they actually won it. Burton deserved the points and City didn't even get a shot on target.
Last season we seemed to fall apart after the transfer window closed (we started losing in mid January but we were unlucky against Fulham and another game against someone I can’t recall just now). Today was as **** as we’ve been this season, a couple of days after the transfer window shut. The signings we’ve made, Whyte excepted, don’t seem to have strengthened us and accommodating the signings appears to have upset the team spirit. We are higher up the table right now than I expected, and I suspect most fans expected too, but we look like a team on the slide again, like last season. Back to basics and rekindle the team spirit, that’s the recipe now. Not sure whether McCann has that one in his locker though.
The only person who doesn't see the incompetence is you know who.... or maybe promotion isn't on their radar.... sustainable club and all that... Season end sales ... Emmanuelle, Doc, Greaves will pay for next season...
Just saw on Twitter, somebody said that Bournemouth had to make a brave decision, we maybe need to do the same.
We aren't going up if McCann remains manager. Simple as that. I cannot see any other outcome possible. This team, in the hands of any of the managers around us, would be comfortably top. With him, we will become Sunderland. I genuinely hope I'm completely wrong. But I have less than zero faith in him to do it.
He did. Far from the worst out there. Battyesque (not sure why we moved out a player we already had for the sake of paying to bring in the same player though).
At least you Toast and a couple of others can see the wood for the trees . Not good enough defo not an Auto promo team that's for sure . Shocking !
The most frustrating thing for me is, we are actually good enough, but our performances haven't been. We aren't consistent because we just play the same formation every week. If it was actually a good formation, it wouldn't matter as much, but because it's total bollocks, it's dead easy for smaller teams to nullify us. The likes of Wigan, Northampton and Rochdale will watch that and copy it, count on it.
the Hull city way, when it come's to digging a result out we seems to run out of a plan B (If we ever had one)
We turn up to these crap teams thinking we've already won. What we actually get is 90 minutes of 11 men behind the ball on a freshly ploughed farmers field and we give up too easily. Players as much to blame as McCann today, they are more talented to a man then their opposite number but every one of them lost their battles today, just not good enough.
wrong all over the pitch - Long doesn't give any confidence he's safe with the ball - back four **** about passing sideways and backwards - midfield not creating chances and keep stopping to pass back again and attack non-existent - we desperately needed an attacker in the window but bought in more midfielders and gave away Batty - too many poor players who cant pass and cant shoot - and worst of all a clueless excuse for a manager
Just like Blackpool away, if you cannot win it keep what you have got. A draw would have been decent in the end against a team with the new manager bounce behind them. When I saw the ref ****ing about with the kick off procedure I feared the worse. Free kick after free kick. He blew for everything. But I'm not blaming the ref, they out muscled us all over the field. This was standard league one stuff on another heavy pitch and we were not good enough to win it, so we should have come away with a 0-0 and a point.
McCann should be under serious pressure to keep his job now. Anything but automatic promotion is not good enough. Current form suggests we ain't gonna do it. Problem is we know he ain't going qanywhere
