Bit disappointed for Neil but he could be injured or something we don't know but I look at that bench and it tells me if the match isn't going our way that bench can make a huge difference
I can sort of understand where you are coming from but McGeady, Wyke, Gucchi and AOB are all capable of getting a goal. Plus O9 in a more advanced position gives me confidence. Seems to be a long long time ago since I can recall saying that about a Sunderland team.
Substitutions today could be Scowen for O'Nien, Sanderson for Power, Jones for McGeady, Diamond for Gooch. Not saying they will be, just that we now have strength in depth for injuries or to bring more energy on. It looks as though we might have the means to have greater control of games.
I quite like what I have seen of Winchester so far and would not rule him out, but O/9 would be one of the first names on any team sheet, for me he is the ultimate all rounder and mid field is the place for him to shine. LJ looks to be keeping changes to a minimum atm and that could be a good thing in the circumstances, but this is not our best eleven and the team will need a few tweaks in the weeks ahead to get up to full speed imo. OaU
We have a lot of games coming up from now until the end of the season, i think the possibility of us having the same starting line up twice in a row is highly doubtful. All players who earn a place will play at some point, that is all i am confident about, who that may be, i have no idea, down to them to impress LJ
Is Winchester injured? 09 good New LB good Wyke, O'Brien, Gooch and Mcgeady good Not a bad bench either C'mon forget Tuesday, new game, let's start on the B of Bang/whistle peep
Think you could be right there, probably be used for cover for Wyke/AOB but think he'll only be brought in if something seriously happens to one/both of those 2. Can't see him getting a look in once Stewart is fit
Just started pìssing down here in the North East. Of Wales Wi fi went down last night, sending a new router and the mrs is off work. So a thoroughly miserable weekend
I’d have started Jones with McGeady and put Gooch In O’Brien’s place. Dan Neil gets a place on the bench ahead of Maguire for me on past performance. Still 2-0 win Wyke and McGeady.
Personally I would've as well but then I've not idea what Jones' fitness is like. He hasn't played many games for a while and might need a bit of time to get up to speed so a few sub appearances here and there might be needed
Agree, I don’t think Jones is fully fit but I’d have started him and subbed him when he’s flagging. At least we could get at them from the off, they’re there for the taking. Tuesday night was comfortable for us so I expect a win.
Not me tbh, McGeady's done enough to keep his place and we don't need him losing interest again. Ideally we want both players up for the fight and fighting for that place.
