So after reading up this is how I've done it. Make the kecap manis Roast chicken thighs then chop up Chop 1 onion and 2 cloves of garlic Finely chop a chilli Cook jasmine rice then rinse with cold water Everything is done at this point so have a beer. When ready... Fry onion garlic and chilli, add chicken and 1tbsp of kecap manis and cook for 5 mins. Add rice and 2 tbsp of kecap manis and 1 tspn of shrimp paste. Fry for a bit until hot then serve with cucumber and tomatoes with a fried egg on top. Egg should have crispy edges.

You can use 1 crushed up anchovy instead of the shrimp paste. The kecap manis you make and it's easy. 3rd of a bottle of dark soy and 50g brown sugar, reduce down to half and let cool. The link you posted is one I read, I've gone for pre cooked chicken thigh other than the uncooked breast in that recipe.
