To be honest, I'm not exactly sue what a grab a granny night entails...hopefully my mate Marcos will be along shortly to explain all
That’s called a “gentleman’s agreement” and we all know what that’s worth. Also the player benefits from letting the contract run down, the money ends up in their pocket
All taken into consideration before signing. And no, not a 'gentleman's agreement - it's still possible to have a legally binding document drawn up that has a delayed start date. As I mentioned earlier, I'm not a sales guy, but I do remember the joy of a 'Letter of Intent' being signed up. If it suited IBM & it's billion-rated companies, then I'm sure it would suit the FA. It's not the title of the instrument, it's the contents, & how good the legal teams were. I have no idea of the details, just before you ask.
Ha ha the club's we used to go in where bigger than that it's more of a working men's club that one... mind you some of the old birds that used to go on grab a night looked like they had risen like the fabled bird
You’re probably right but surely a player will just let his contract run down and pocket the money. If it’s too long for that then it’s in the best interest of the club for a bidding war?
Absolutely! But that's just one of many difficult issues that they have to tie down before signing. I'm quite sure he's get a loyalty bonus +/or signing on fee, which would have to put a smile on the players face before anything got signed.
