spurs wanted to play on the counter but they actually messed it up. Mourinho was sat with a smug head for 40mins. Salah was getting behind them and he was right up off hi seat shouting. In short they had us on the counter but their own defensive line was too high and they had dier playing.

unlike brighton they were not willing to sit in shape. murinho wanted them to but when you've son and kane and bergwijn on the pithc plus 5 defenders then the two in midfield will get over run and we did have extra bodies there. Spurs out ball was non existent bar a long ball at son or kane over the top..

the contrast with brighton is the poured players back to make damned sure they always had an out ball. and they kept actually wide enough up top as well so our full backs couldn't just lash at the press. They walked out of any press we had every time. the could pass it through bassouma every time (no cm pressing hard) or out wide (no full back press) It was a total **** show from about 10 mins in for us.

However theres a difference between a **** hwo 0-0 and a 0-1 and the difference was firmino not bothering his arse closing down wide left after being put there to do the job off shaqiri. he didn't get over, left them in on robertson and then when it was played back eft the guy hoof a deep cross in. If firmino did his job with a bit of effort they would have played back safe and we'd be talking about 0-0 and we just can't score and how negative brighton were (which would be unfair)

Normally we can lift our game for the ' big' teams but can't see it happening against Citeh.Think it's going to be an embarrassing scoreline.

I don't do predictions, but even if I did I think this one would be impossible to call. Anything can happen.
I wouldn't be surprised if we won, or if it was a stale draw, or if we lost 6-0.

Thing is, Citeh are playing well have some very good players and Pep won't be naive enough not to attack our CB's and with our transitions being slow they will have men behind the ball for when we eventually get to their end.

Klopps comment on City having a break because of Covid wasn't a good idea imo, motivates them and is just a bit daft.

Anyway massive game, we can win it worth the right attitude but there are concerns over our form and even if we win I can't see its improving that much and we'll probably lose a few more games, City just look solid at the moment and even if they get beaten they'll bounce back.

Not going to be a good idea to have Philips or Williams starting so have to give one of the new lads a go.

    Yeah its really really stupid.

I think we can all see he has been off his game this season in terms of being snappy and saying things he shouldn't.

It was a daft thing to say, especially as we always come back worse after time off. Although Klopp's basic English has improved, there's still a long way to go before he can adequately express himself. He's an intelligent bloke, and I think there's a lot more in his head than comes out of his mouth properly, and sometimes he just blurts things that might come out differently if he had a greater mastery of the language.
Whatever the reason, there's no real sense in the claim. City have just got their act together now, and we're still struggling.

Anyway, I'm over Brighton now - time to move on.
    We'll smashin' ****'em.

    Think he's just frustrated.

Still a confident win on the cards for us

Yeah, I think so - like we all are. Some of the football has been sublime when we've won, and then we just throw in some really abject performances where we don't seem to have a clue. He must be tearing his hair out wondering how to fix it.

    He should ask us. :)

It wasn’t even factually accurate. He said they had a 2 week break, but they only missed the game vs us, and had 4 days max between all of their fixtures around that period. Made himself look a twat there.
