I meant a non-twittery response of vague-ish-ness. Charnley's been at a game as recently as two weeks ago. I think he's wfh, but there's still countless staff furloughed.
Ashley thought - here's free advertising and a bit of a laugh; I'll show these stuck up tossers that you can be a barrow boy and win the league. Didn't realise - or care - that the advertising was one of the greatest sources of income, that infrastructure was vital or that non-mates were needed and he effectively started our death because of his desperate need for free SD ads. Then it bit him, then the fans turned, and so began 13 years of painful non-existence, hiring an endless stream of people that made the Churchill dog seem objectionable.
He can’t have left ages ago, as he’s still listed on Companies house as a director and that would have had to be changed within 14 days of him leaving the post.
Charnley's office is clear. He is effectively acting as interim MD until a handover. The admin staff are furloughed. There is a skeleton staff working at the club to keep things ticking over.
His desk has been cleared for months from what I understand. I heard this around September doesn’t seem to have made much difference.
