When I was a wee boy you got what you were given at mealtimes and that was that, there was no choice. Lump it or leave it was the order of the day. There were certain foods that I hated as a wee boy but your tastes change as you get older and there's not much from back then that I subsequently didn't end up enjoying and loving. There was one thing which my Ma served up as a wee lad, however, something which I have not and never will ever eat again and that's liver, absolutely hate it. The taste and the texture. Any food horrors as a youngster that have carried on into later life?
Beetroot. Hated it as a kid because they used to dump it on your plate and the minging purple juice used to ruin everything else it touched. I have since tried it roasted, balsamic vinegar and all that but still tastes rank. Tomatoes. Not a problem cooked up in a pasta sauce but I can't take them in a sandwich or burger. The Devil's Testicles. Pizza. The combination of tomatoes and cheese makes me physically gag. I've made many a pizza from scratch which everyone else seems to really enjoy but I can't even stand my own ones (unlike farts) Not with you on the offal though, love a bit of liver, bacon, fried onions and mash with thick gravy. Also love devilled kidneys, chicken livers are banging too especially fried up with onions and mushrooms. Not a fan of hearts though, used to get them as school dinners but the taste was far too strong for me. I've returned to some verboten foods over the years as my palette changed and can happily munch through veg that would have had me in a temper tantrum as a kid. Roasted cauliflower is a good example, surprisingly tasty but would never have eaten it as a nipper.
Haslet TBF never tried it as an adult. Don't even know if it's still a thing. Can't recall seeing it anywhere.
Only the crumbliest, flakiest chocolate..................... Strange they don't show those adverts anymore.
The words "sweet" and "potato" should not be used in the same sentence. If I fancy something on the menu that comes with sweet potato fries, I'll ask if these can be replaced with proper fries. Not eating those foul-tasting orange fries.
Just when I thought my opinion of you could not get any lower, you prove beyond doubt that the depths that you will plummet holds no bounds. Post some more pics of teens please. .
