It will be interesting to see who Ralph goes for in the middle. If Romeu is close enough he obviously goes straight in, but if not then I guess JWP becomes the defensive option and you play Minamino with Redmond and Djenepo on the wings. Which is probably too much of an attacking midfield but I don't think we have any other options really. Another youth player could get a go in the middle I suppose. But this is why I think we should just go all out attack vs Newcastle and just hope we can outscore them. Also happy birthday susan!
I'm pretty optimistic about this and maybe turning back to my old positive (annoying) self. I think 3-1 to us after going one down. Not going to rely on the dishwasher, but pure belief. Say this enough times and it will be true: We are the saints. We will score more than Newcastle. We will win. Now pause for a second. Imagine the final whistle at 4:54 (4 mins injury time). Really imagine it. Imagine the camera pans to a smiling Ralph with Redders in the background after coming off on 90 mins. JWP smiling face. Ings' big grin. Imagine it all between now and then and it will happen. Repeat that vision. I should be a life coach.....
In honour of CGT's birthday, I now have an earworm to the tune of Blondie's 'Atomic' in my head - "His thighs are beautiful...ohhh toniiiiight.... Che Adams"
Lol thanks. That song is in my head now. Cracking song though. As was Debbie Harry in my youth. Started off my fixation with blondes, that hasn't really ever gone away. Oh back on topic....keep imagining (My previous post not Debbie Harry)
Ignoring the United game (yes, please ignore it), our games have been close....the only difference being that tight decisions are now not going our way. Or perhaps other teams are now familiar with our style and can counteract it. Or someone ran over a black cat. All valid things. It's good that we got the points early in the season....much better for the heart than having few points and scrambling at the end of the season. Be nice to get a couple of wins soon though. This match....I have no idea. A month ago I would have been optimistic...now, not so sure. For the sake of argument....2-0 to Saints.
We tend to start well, so I can see us taking the lead. I'm glad Bednarek is available because Wilson would have caused problems for Stephens and Tchapchet (assuming Vestergaard doesn't play). Wilson will still be a worry, but I'm more confident now. 1-1 or 2-1 Saints if the players truly are feeling as positive as Ralph said.
I must admit I'm not sure how this will pan out. My pleasure, apart from a win obviously, will be how we perform and demonstrate a positive reaction to recent events. Providing we show that determination to move onwards and in a disciplined way (no bookings preferred at present!) obtain a result from which we can say, 'we're back! '!!
Okay heres a thing. Why are teams not allowed to use the recovery facilities? I know Covid is a thing, but I thought that football was allowed to continue under controlled circumstances whereby the football world existed within a bubble which okay, is unlikely to be watertight because humans...but that is doubled down on by all the continuous testing. So why can't they use the normal facilities? Genuine quesiton because I don't understand.
