Honestly as much as Vestergaard has been missed, with Bednarek's suspension rescinded I hope we don't rush Jannik back. Confidence was such a key part in his turnaround I don't want him out there at 90%, no matter how much a bounce-back game (or three) is needed. He isn't one who has much agility to spare, I want him back at his best ready to pick up where he left off. No mishaps that might set him back - physically or mentally.

I guess if he eats his greens and has his homework done early he can come on in the 80th minute when we're winning and Bruce has to resort to saddling up the old cart horse and brings Carroll on. 'Cos if there is one thing that invalidates everything I said before - it's my desire to not get done by Andy Carroll ever again.

Oriol on the other hand can be strapped and bandaged and I'd still want him out there with our current lack of options. Plus it would suit him aesthetically.

Obviously the sound of returning players is potentially good news for Saturday. But it's great news for Thursday. Sounds like we could be at full strength for Wolves, thereby giving us a real chance of progressing in the cup.

If Ralph is 50-50 this weekend with any player, I wouldn't be taking the risk. Especially because someone else will get injured - maybe it's Stephens' turn.

Due to covid restrictions a lot of the recovery practices can't be used. Swimming pools, ice baths etc are off limits.
We could drop the high tempo pressing for a few games to try and prevent injury, but Ralph has worked so hard to get us playing to it, it's a risk not worth taking in my view.

I agree us and Liverpool are suffering because of our all action style. Why do you think wet spam are doing so well !!!

Good to see the positive mindset after Tuesday's little hiccup, Ralphs response was superb, couldn't have been better, it seems to run through the club and fans. The rescinded red another bonus.

would you start AJ against the magpies?

Move JWP to RB and partner him with Romeu?
Start him with JWP if Romeu not 100%?
Not even let him on the bus until his agent confesses that he’s actually a bit ****?

I’m a second chance person so I’d give him the opportunity to really truly play out of his skin. Anything less than that and i’d Likely bin him off. No half measures, come out and prove yourself.

Has there ever been a time in football history when a club and it’s fans have responded so positively to a 9-0 defeat?

    We win or we learn

I think we might get in trouble if we did that! Unless you meant Anthony Joshua to add a bit of punch to midfield. :)

There aren't exactly many fans that we can actually refer to though, are there? Ipswich, and even that was quarter of a century ago. <laugh>

I know our injury list is bad but I definitely don't think we should be offering Adam Johnson a contract.

    It's Dan N'lundulu's birthday today, and mine (38 y.o.).

Hopefully he can come off the bench and get a birthday winner tomorrow. But probably more chance of me doing it.
