He was barely ever in a position where we could pass it to him and he couldn't make the long passes stick. It happens with every 'striker' we sign. They are not good enough to get minutes. I'd much rsther Lamela played. He didn't have any issue in getting involved.

 

Gutted. Both Liverpool and now Chelsea have won 6 points each from Spurs.

I cannot wait for the fans to get back into stadiums. The fans will be our 12th man and will make all the difference.

Yep, I am so disengaged from watching Spurs these days, I am not even bothered we lost.

The root cause of everything though, is our clueless and incompetent owners, they have been making awful footballing decisions for 20 years and there is no sign of that ever changing. The sooner ENIC, Lewis, Levy et al, sell up and disappear out of Spurs the better.

 

Tottenham have suffered three successive Premier League defeats for the first time since November 2012 under André Villas-Boas.

 

He was completely isolated in the first half, because the rest of the team was so deep.
Any ball played up to him was a hoof and he was muscled out of it by multiple defenders.
We lost the midfield completely. Surrendered would be a more appropriate description.

Lamela got involved and got on the ball because he was wide and deep and people were playing ahead of him.
Vinicius and Moura pushed on past him, Aurier started playing further up and there was space for him.
If he was there instead of a striker, then he'd have suffered from the same isolation and lack of service that Vinicius did.

That is my whole point...because he's a striker he stays up the field where for all the good he is doing he might as well be in the dressing room. No other top team plays with someone like that.
