Don't read every single detail of the court case, but can't see how they can make murder stick.

Heard on radio defence argue she had 'mental problems' (hence possible suicide risk).

Can't help returning to the thought of her abandoned by her 'friends' as she was turned away from Welly. Wonder how well they sleep at night?

And for her parents- the thought that their daughter's final hours were alone, distressed, cold, friendless and deeply unhappy.

She was drunk, confused and vulnerable.

She needed someone's help, care and support.

Instead he had sex with her then left her alone in a cold and dark place.

    And then she died.

Regardless of anything else that makes him culpable.

Morally guilty, but unfortunately you can't be found guilty of a crime on that.

You can so long as the jury aren't ****ing idiots.

But more seriously, there's obviously more evidence to consider than what I've just outlined.

The Police know he raped Libby. Then she was found dead.

    We don't need Sherlock Holmes..

But a lot of other people left her, she became abusive to someone who tried to help her.

They don’t know she was raped. There was no bruising to the arms etc consistent with rape.

I've thought long and hard about whether to respond to this or not.

Obviously, I've decided that I will.

My niece was a friend of Libby's. In the same year at Uni, although she wasn't out with them all that night.

    How well do they sleep?

    Not well, mate. Not well.

They're kids and they'll carry that for the rest of their days.

    RIP Libby. xx

Should be in the jury service thread but more important here, When I did jury service the clerk of court said you will hear lots of details and technical stuff, don't worry about trying to remember it all as the judge will guide you in his / her summing up. Take note of the summing up.

The Judge will also take on board the advice given by a criminal phycologist who will have interviewed the suspect at length.

In an ideal world we would all find him guilty, ask that he be given the longest sentence possible and hope that someone inside would hand out some retribution!!!

Sadly,we don't live in an ideal world and the jury involved here need to consider all the evidence in front of them...That might not be enough to convict him of murder or manslaughter. If they just 'think' he's guilty of murder or 'think' he's guilty of manslaughter and he is sentenced on that verdict then it won't be long until his Q.C is lodging an appeal, some judge will side with him and the bastard will be admonished!!!

None of us want this twisted, perverted excuse for a human out on the Street but finding him guilty with a lack of clear evidence won't mend the problem and could drag this sorry situation out even longer for the lasses family.

    RIP Libby........

He's guilty of being a totally weird **** that's unfit to mix in society.

Clearly, what ever version of events turns out to be real, that poor lass has suffered, but I simply cannot begin to imagine the pain and suffering that poor lasses parents and family are going through with what they are hearing and have gone through, and they'll carry that in some way for the rest of their days.

It simply doesn't bear thinking about.

He has no previous at all. The defence parroted that throughout.
