I honestly think this team isn’t training anything that involves possession and/ or attacking. It just feels like we solely rely on defending (or trying too) and break aways. It’s so, so painful watching us in possession and it’s all made worse when useless oafs gift the opposition the lead.
Annoying camera choices tonight, which was something that annoyed me watching BT's German coverage. Missed several things happening because the focus was on one player or one of the managers. Just show the game, ****s.
Silva replaced by Christensen. Might be out for a while. Those injuries with no contact can be really nasty.
It's a team bereft of confidence. No-one wants the ball, all hiding behind Chelsea players so as not to receive possession. It's symptomatic of a group who don't trust the system they're being told to play, and are petrified they'll be next to be thrown under the manager's (parked) bus.
35 mins in and 1 shot and 33% possession. I ****ing hate the football we play it’s so unbelievably boring to watch. I really wanted to give Mourinho the benefit of the doubt but I would honestly just write off this season and get a manager in that has a long term game plan. I can’t take much more of this
I was literally about to type this. There’s no movement, no discernible pattern of play. No options when we have the ball in our half. It’s more stark today than it has been ever this season. We’re also playing a weird system, almost looks like a 4-2-2-2 with Bergwijn and Tanguy tucked behind Vini and Son. It’s odd and it isn’t working. Davies is getting isolated on the left and it’ll pay off sooner or later. No matter how this game goes now, I’m pretty much done with Jose. Even if he wins us a trophy this season I’d rather he walk in the summer. He won’t though because Levy has too much invested in him being our manager to take the hit and sack him. As RCL and others have said, fans in the ground might have forced his hand but I’m not sure he’ll bite the bullet with things as they are.
If this stays as it is, this’ll be his third straight loss. I think if we hit four or five, it’s night night for him.
We may as well play 5 in midfield and try and keep the ball for a bit. What’s the point of 3 up front if all they do is wait to try and catch the other team on the break?
I think he’s giving his all but he’s not a good enough manager anymore and hasn’t been for quite some time. Being a manager is a tough job but must be the only one where you get fired for poor performance but still get a huge payout
