Oh I agree mate. Not saying the EFL have a point. If they are asking for this commitment in writing I dont see the point as ultimately it would be a lawyers at dawn situation in such an event and the EFL would be on the outside looking in.

you are confusing partnership law where all partners have joint and several liability with the scenario here where the business is a private limited company where all shareholders (not partners) have limited liability. Limited liability means if a business goes tits up, none of the shareholders can be forced to pay a penny beyond what they have already paid for their shares unless their shares are not fully paid up (they have their shares but have not yet paid all of the cash to buy them) whereby the shareholder can be forced to pay the rest of the cash they still owe for their shares, but still not a penny more

 

they’ve recently changed the process. All takeovers go through this now

Speakman has made another appearance on the club podcast. No comments made about the takeover. However when talking about salary caps he referred to higher transfer fees and said Sunderland maybe now in the future could make.

 

I'm not as clued up as some of you guys on here, but I detect that this could well work in our favour. KLD acquires a bigger slice of the pie whilst SDs share diminish

Was wondering if there's a way around salary caps, like us having say a performance based thing in there contracts whereby getting performance bonuses which would benefit the player and the club.

 

All bonuses are included in the cap I believe.

 

I believe the only bonuses not included in the cap are end of season ones i.e promotion and cup competitions

Which means that a bonus could be offered for playing in the early rounds of all the cups

Summat not right with the EFL story. The new majority shareholder is ok but the existing ones aren’t. Yeah righto. Every director is responsible for the business they direct. I’m saying there’s a rabbit away with this current story. No idea why it’s delayed but as long as it comes, which it clearly is doing by the change of strategy and the investment at a ****e time, and we’ve plenty of time to prep for the summer window and focus on winning enough games.

 

It doesn’t help when you have people over the road getting giddy because it’s not done yet, **** stirring and making **** up. People are getting anxious because this is SAFC.
Personally, I know it’s done as Donald wouldn’t have appointed Speakman and
co, then paid off Graham and paid a fee for Stewart.
