Two Captains and a Lieutenant walk into a racecourse, the covid tester says “is this some kind of joke”.

Probably - it’s a Nass post after all

Actually they go to two courses today -

3:10 Ffos Las - Lieutenant Rocco runs again, I think this horse is pretty underrated given connections. He gave Fusil Raffles a scare at Cheltenham and then repeated the dose by getting Protektorat in trouble before finishing a close last of three at Wincanton.

This is a drop in quality of opponents and he can break this field apart if on the same form.

Then the two captains run at Wincanton

3:20 Captain Cattistock & Captain Mcginley

I’ve always had a dislike of big yards running horses in Hunter Chases, and now Fergal is doing the same. You could argue that because it’s owned by the family of their amateur jockey then it’s understandable, however I don’t think it’s in the spirit of the game.

this horse though will relish the trip, and that can’t be said of all of those at the fore in the market. He stays well and with Liam claiming he is on a very handy weight to run a big race here,

the other Captain is also interesting, his yard are going very well (see Pilgrims favourite Hunter chase horse) and this horses form ties in with yesterday’s winner.

I thought he was overpriced last night, but I waited for BOG!! He is now into 22s from 50s <doh>

I think he is an EW bet and the other Captain is a win bet.

Good afternoon one and all ( not so many all today)

I have gone for a very speculative lucky 31
    • Demon Anuau 13.30 W
    • Lamanvar popin 14 10W
    • Boro babe 15.32 FLass
    • Definite winner 16.45 FLass
    • Last page 17.30 Chelmsford

These are my latest donation to the paddy power poverty fund.

Porlock Bay has been brought expressly from France to run this year's Hunters Chase at the Festival and he won very easily in his only PTP, it would be very strange if he does not fight for the victory although we know that the important thing now is to qualify.

Never been beyond 2m 4f Pilgrim so it will be very interesting to see him at the business end today. Even his p2p was a rare 2.5miler. Lightly raced for his age.

Are you sure they’ve not got him for Aintree?

Yes, it will be a very interesting race to watch. It is clear that in this division we are still going to have a lot of surprises, good and bad, and that there are still some horses to come to the fore that will surprise us, Nass's horse among others who, although if I'm not mistaken he is already qualified, I don't think they will send him directly to the Festival without running again.

Ahhh... maybe. It hadn't occurred to me, I hardly ever think beyond Cheltenham, if I remember correctly it's 2m 5f or so. Good point of view.

I would expect same as they are planning with Staker Wallace who Jamie Codd spoke highly of as an Aintree type.

If so, less competition for the mare and RI.

For info. Wouldn't have convinced me to back it but might have triggered a slight concern if thinking of backing against him

That Captains ran gallant races in 3rd and 4th, but the classy horses came to the fore. Not sure Porlock Bay stays well enough for extended trips but would be very interesting for Aintree and the hunters evening at Cheltenham later in the year.

Porlock Bay has run very well, it looks like he stays. If he goes to Cheltenham he will be very dangerous. Sametegal I don't think he's qualified yet but if he does he'll be another good candidate.

    Hi Nass,

L.Rocco Ultima o RSA? In Ultima I have Canelo 25/1 e/w but in RSA have Commander Of Fleet which is non-runner, if he runs he can steal a place? 50/1 is tempting (I can't bet 33/1 NRNB).
