Dont forget that last week Newcastle beat them, Brighton beat us and Liverpool, we beat Burnley Burnley beat Liverpool. Its a crazy league this season with crazy results and Covid has meant hardly any pre season and hence a whacking great number of players out injured. This season should have meant no Internationals or League Cup for Top 2 leagues. When has anyone ever seen a season with so many crazy results

<laugh> Correct Doc :emoticon-0100-smile actually I think it was WJ who asked Struijk after an u23 game how his name should be pronounced and he replied Strewk so blame him if it's wrong

    It's the Leeds United effect.

Whatever division we're in becomes crazy. The Championship for years was considered the most exciting in Europe, but since we left its boring.

The PL has in comparison been sterile and predictable...until Leeds arrived.

Brighton beat Spurs as well Doc. The frustrating thing about last night as you say is we gifted them two sloppy goals. Pascal was deffo at fault for the first. Is it just me or is Philips prone to giving away niggly and needless free kicks.<ok>

I'll put my head above the parapet - he does. Way too clumsy in dangerous areas. Seems to be an issue for us this season, giving away free kicks exactly where we don't want to.

From a purely selfish point of view I wonder how the majority of teams in the Premier League are going to get around the circa £30m average revenue losses this season. Covid has cost Leeds £40m according to Kinnear/Radz. The average for the league is £30m but much much more for the likes of Spurs Man Utd etc.

Lack of January transfers is no coincidence and I expect we wont be seeing the billions normally spent in the Summer. France is collapsing so shrewd clubs will try and benefit, but big transfers to Barcelona and Real Madrid will not happen as both clubs are skint. pogba wont be going anywhere as nobody will pay the money Man Utd think hes worth, Salah wont be going anywhere. Jadon Sancho wont be going to Man Utd because they wanted £100m but Man Utd offered £90m but his value will be nowhere near that and his club should have cashed in. Neymar and Mbappe will probably stay at PSG because nobody can afford them now and that means only Man City and PSG can afford Messi if he leaves Barcelona.

So yes the football food chain is going to be impacted right through our football pyramid but all around the world. Leeds lost £40m this season on top of losses from last seasons break and restart without crowds. I reckon some Prem clubs will be in trouble behind the scenes or under the water and wont be able to stand another season of massive losses

    Good morning all
And firstly all the Best to Ell, fingers crossed you start feeling a lot better soon.
Disappointed as everyone else about last nights result, however for some reason i don't feel like hanging myself from the nearest tree anymore when we lose.
Because of the performances and how well were doing overall this season, i am able to take a defeat on the chin, this i presume is down to no pressure, as we have more or less achieved our goal this season, whilst last season every point counted towards promotion.

It's just a weird league this season, a lot of the results that have occurred wouldn't have in my opinion if the fans where in,some of the games I've seen are like friendlies, not the same intensity/fervour.
Regarding raph he certainly looks the business even more so for the price, I mean whu sold Haller recently to Ajax for 20 mill, who was a flop really so we've done a great deal and he will get better as well.
Costa and Roberts well, that shows we haven't the proper squad strength quality wise yet, give the best kids a chance to have a go off the bench....how are we going to know otherwise.
And would our "back up keeper" have done an olsen

@hemase , I thought Klich was our player of the season for the first 10 games or so. His form dropped off when Rodrigo came in to midfield. Is it coincidence that his form has been better the last two games when Rodrigo hasn't been on the pitch?

Both Klich and Dallas massively outperformed Phillips last night who hasn't looked good since his ban.

Not Stroo-ik, Stroik, or Struock this time?

Motty would never have been caught out like the current mob.

He told me personally that it was Strew-och, but I made the mistake of not checking if he was giving the english version instead of the Flemish version. e.g. lock = english, loch = Flemish.

I thought he was Dutch, possibly Belgian but now it seems he has a bit of Scottish in him too, och aye the Strew-och!!

Anyway, Junior Narco turns 18 next month. As you were the first gentleman to buy him a beer in a pub he can return the favour when we are allowed out to play again :emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer:

Klich's form dropped off after Bielsa said he's good enough to play for any team in the world <doh>

If we're going to take advantage of the crisis in France, we should act now & get the summer incomers signed up asap. Possibly offer some cash up front to sweeten the deal.

If we wait until the summer, they may have a tv contract in place to give them hope for the future. There will also be a lot of teams in pursuit of players too, which will push the prices up.
