I think you will find the minor ones are from your car registration, where someone has thrown litter out of the window. Criminals don't tend to use their own cars mate.

But that's right duggie, that's how they catch you. The CCTV picks up your car registration if you chuck litter out the window, and it generates a PCN. Otherwise the penalty notices are issued on foot in person.

I'm not sure what your point was mate. All I'm seeing is you getting worked up <laugh>

You said they catch people that drop litter but not criminals, so I merely explained the difference. That litter is a PCN.

My complaint was and is that with all the CCTV cameras filming everything we do when someone is murdered the footage never seems clear enough for a positive ID

It's not as simple as that. I wished it was. I've sat on the Jury of a murder trial, and it just costs so much money, it's mind boggling. A police force can blow it's entire budget on a murder trial. Sadly it's not as simple as it all seems, or is made out to be with science such as DNA. If only mate.

Exactly so what is the purpose if it does not protect the public

Just a Big Brother exercise to con us into thinking it is for our protection

Fair comment. Probably more to protect retailers than citizens would be my suggestion.

I never said he had power. I said he had courage.

Though I suppose that sort of courage does give him power, of a sort.

Laws are generally there to protect property and wealth rather than people imo.

Which is why people get longer for fraud than rape.

That's all CCTV cameras were created for, was to protect the retailers, that's why initially you tended to find them in the Town Centres. However, the cost of them with the improving technology became too much, so instead of charging the retailers for them, they enforce PCN's on to litter bugs, and motoring offences. You stopped in that box junction....that's another £60 (or however much they are). You stopped, to check your satnav, no parking there mate, another £60. Someone chucks a cig butt out the window, they got your reg, another £60. You think they missed it on CCTV, they just rewind the footage, another PCN for someones doormat.
