What happens in the middle east is linked. Saudi unblock BEin, the PL then offer a resolution without arbitration.
To be fair to Roland he is raising some perfectly valid and sensible points. Most of which I agree with as well. If you take away the emotional connection (being a fan) and look at the hard actual current facts. Or look at it from an external fans perspective. We probably look like wishful thinking bitter delusional people clinging onto any possible hope there is/was. Outside of our own communication channels (nufc directly related) there is next to no evidence to suggest a takeover is either on or on the horizon. For all intense and purposes, PIF have walked. Mike Ashley is just bitter and is trying to extract money from the PL. But **** it I’m a magpie so I can turn a blind eye to all the hard facts and hope. For ever!
You and I are on the same page and the info I got backed this up. I’d love to share the hope but to me it’s always suited Ashley to let people take the heat, he’s actually really sensitive even though he indirectly claims he’s not. Bruce getting rinsed, the false takeover hope, anything that stops him and his tat shop from gettting negative press works for him. I don’t even doubt Nick De Marco is trying to give us hope, but let’s also remember that he’s been talking to Ashley/Barnes and just as easily spun some bullshit lines as well, it’s how they operate regardless of audience (they sat and lied to a court, to MPs, they don’t care). There’s not been even the tiniest indication of any link with PIF, none of my contacts in the Middle East think it’s a thing anymore and every article is what I’ve referred to repeatedly as cognitive dissonance, seeing what you want to see. There’ll be no decision post Bein, I’d bet money on it. There’ll not even be any announcement, it’ll be done under nda away from courts but Ashley will take a cheque for about £15m from the PL and it’ll all go quiet yet again, which is how it is at Newcastle. Nothing gets out: The contracts everyone has are severely punitive and is why so many people have left the club particularly since Rafa left. Bruce and Charnley are Ashley men. Neither are geordies and are just as happy ****ting on us as his old cockney mafia were.
The only issue I have with this is Mike Ashley himself. He wants rid of us. We are a burden. Any benefit Sports Direct/ Fraser Group received from the club has long gone. Ashley wants a sale. Why? So he can pursue the high street. I think us going after the PL is proof enough that however much of a snake Ashley and his associates are, this time it is real.
I mean, let me just show you this https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54916034 This is an article talking about the ongoing talks. There's a bunch of stuff previously from the Egyptian who was also bidding. About two weeks ago it was completed. There's simply nothing deeply secretive or sensitive about a takeover, there's no need for it to be because these aren't public listed companies, share prices aren't affected. Southampton was relatively similar, there was news about it - nobody has to talk details, or specifics, but to say thee's a takeover in progress is fine, it affects nothing. We have an organisation - PIF - who are very open about investment and what they plan to do with it, there is every opportunity to put comments in the public domain about "hoping" to take over NUFC; it would actually be a smart move, draw more attention to the PL, force the hand. They're not - but nobody seems to take that as a bad sign?! The deeply clandestine nature of this business dealing - unlike any other - does suggest it simply doesn't exist. As I've said repeatedly, it really suits Mike for the fans to come to their own conclusions on this stuff, particularly when it paints other people as the 'bad guy'. Is Mike really working with sport lawyers to force a takeover? Of course not, he's not the buyer!
The legal action brought by NUFC has been confirmed by three sources- NUFC, the PL and Blackstone Chambers. You aren't hearing anything because PL arbitration is subject to rules of court - confidentiality in this case. Any leak is contempt of court punishable by a spell in prison if that is viewed as appropriate. Contempt is a serious offence. There is nothing specifically clandestine. It's just the law.
We're a burden, sure, but in an uncertain market at a low value and the value is, in the mid term, likely to increase slightly as we get out of Covid. The buyer who was going to pay the extortionate amount Ashley wanted has gone. There's a lot of other interest - allegedly - but all will most certainly not be interested in paying £300m for a ramshackle club on the brink of relegation. Look, I think if someone wrote him a cheque for £350m he'd be gone tomorrow. The issue we disagree on is whether that person exists - I don't think they do, that ship has sailed and I stand by the point that Ashley wants far too much money for the club and we can never be sold thanks to his greed. It's a vicious cycle because he cannot and will not make this club "worth" £300m+, the TV deals are flat-lining and his neglect will inevitably cause relegations, halving the value of the club. He's content sitting on it til we have a lucky season or find someone with more money than sense. It just doesn't affect him otherwise, it doesn't touch his wealth, it doesn't affect his health.
Just to add also - the use of the words "proposed sale of NUFC." Both the PL and Blackstone Chambers have confirmed it.
Mate, you've already said arbitration is paused. There was zero news before the legal challenge. We had one comment saying they'd pulled out due to global economic uncertainty. Basically, Mike's gravy train pulled out the station.
Don't start that **** again. Too many people don't understand. It was used in the present tense Move on people
If the ship has gone then why are the PL and Blackstone Chambers referring to legal action in respect of the "proposed" sale? Ashley is not after compensation. The case is Newcastle United Football Club v Premier League, not Mike Ashley v Premier League. The club aren't after compensation as loss is difficult to prove in this instance. So what does that leave? Legal action in respect of how the ODT test was carried out and/ or the legal separation of PIF. This legal action is expensive. Unless there is some benefit to be gained, I.e. sale then it would be a complete waste of time. Ashley does not receive compensation. The club doesn't.
