So we tried to loan out HNM 2 days ago, then pick him for tonight’s game.

Looking at our team sheet we are going to get absolutely battered. It’ll be men against boys.

    is Martin injured ?

    edit
Apparently Martin has a tight hamstring and back pain , Rowe is out for a couple of months as well, I know things are tight financially but to have no recognised fit left back is madness, and implies we have given up any chance of reaching top 6

    Bloody hell.
That team looks like lambs to slaughter.
The front 6 look as bad as I've seen.
    Prove me wrong City.

I thought our first half was very good, defended well, midfield doing well, Messengo looks lively, Vyner & Kalas looks solid..
Can't really moan so far....Defo putting in the effort
Brentford do look slick with the ball.

Cannot fault the effort so far, it's a pity that Mawson tried to get in front of the forward, when you do that you have to make sure that you win the ball, in hindsight just staying strong and not allowing him to turn was the better option.

But my main question has to be where the f*** did that performance by Massengo come from?, he has been terrific all game.

We are crying out for Diedhiou to hold the ball far better than he has, but we are doing well against a quality side.

Nowhere near good enough second half. Once again lacking any invention or cutting edge to our offensive play.

Thought we looked much better tonight against a very organised and sharp Brentford....lacked concentration and cutting edge in 2nd half...two disappointing players for me tonight was Semenyo & Fammy,, we needed them to be on it to get anything from this game, but both were really poor ...
There were positives.. we did look more up for it, but still lacking quality...

Firstly let me say it wasn’t the hammering we were all expecting and Brentford are everything we are not and if there isn’t a sea change in the way our club is run, will never be.

They had Toney up front and we had a wheelie bin, who looked for the 2nd game as though he couldn’t be arsed, they had Rico Henry and we had Maricrappa. Toney and Henry 2 players we were interested in and never signed.

When you look at the difference in budgets but the terrific signings they make against the mainly uninspiring signings that we make, they are in the position that they deserve to be in and the best of luck to them and we are in a false position IMHO.

Don’t get me wrong much improved from Saturday, but in midfield and defence we surrender far too much space and back off far too much and the as the ball comes into our area we are caught ball watching and nowhere near the 2nd ball for 2 of the goals and stating the obvious our final ball is positively shocking.

Sadly Holden will big this performance up again but we are light years away from them.

I thought that, not sure why he took Messengo or Nagy off..I understood Edwards as looked a bit raw to me .Fammy did nothing all game IMO.
I've said before, not sure Deano's subs look to have much impact................apart from Wells!!

We sort of looked O.K. for the opening 15 minutes or so but then we morphed into our usual sloppy selves. The body language on the player's faces says a lot about who and where we are in the standings and I can't really see any depth or skills that can take us forward. The club seem to be hoping something good will happen but with who we have I tend to think that scenario belongs in some happy ending fairy tale. The usual apathetic season is well under way and without some miracle, or change of form and attitude, we could be hanging around the lower half of the Championship awaiting the promises for next season.

Sorry to lose, a good effort and final result against a team of Brentfords quality, interesting we had 4 academy players in the game tonight, good effort to all.

    3-2 flattered City.
    Great delivery for Vyner's goal.
Played with spirit and effort 1st half and Massengo's best performance yet.
2nd half they pretty much toyed with City. When they came forward Brentford had purpose with better players, and they had a game plan.
Not City though, but they worked hard, got lucky with a debatable offside goal, however too little too late.

Sorry guys Brentford were a different class to us.
They were toying with us for big parts of the game.
3-2 as Redprint said flattered us.
The same speech from Holden cone the end.
Massengo was our best player tonight.
Ashton and Holden have to go.

When Massengo is one of our better players then I know we are not a very good team.

I jacked in Sky Sports channels last year as I wasn't getting the use out of them. I still have Sky Sports News so that's where I follow a lot of games.
